Hi,
I am / was the proud owner of a 2017 380BHP A8L rocket ship until recently when my car went to Audi for an MOT. In their infinite wisdom Audi decided to implement a remap of the engine in response to the emissions scandal from a couple of years ago. ( Incidentally I did not ask for this work to be done ! )
Within 10 seconds of collecting the car it was obvious to me that something very, very bad had been done to the engine . It sounded and ran fine, but drove like a 1.3 fiesta ( sorry Ford, great car but not an A8) . It was completely not my car. On rejecting the car back to the service centre , having driven a further 5 miles, they admitted carrying out the remap, but said it should be indiscernible to the original . I pointed out that I had noticed the change within 10 seconds, without knowledge the change had been made.
I am currently having an argument with Audi, to get this reversed. For whatever reason Audi seem to be struggling with this ? Does anyone know why that would be so difficult ?
If any members know of a specialist in or around London who can put the original settings back into the car along with the NoX sensor which Audi also changed, I would be very grateful.
Thanks for your help
