No rough running and no error codes, just lots of smoke! Had it into a garage a few weeks ago and they couldn't get their heads around it ether. My thoughts are ether injector fault or piston rings 😞

Hi all, I have been having issues with my Audi pouring out grey (diesel smelling) smoke. So today I decided to unplug the injectors one by one to see if one of those was faulty. When I unplugged injector 1 or 4 the engine just ran rough, but when I unplugged injector 2 or 3 the engine just cut out. Any ideas why it would do this? Or if this is indicative of a problem? Mark.

No not using any oil, it's 137,000 miles no service history, I bought it off copart and wish I hadn't bothered!!!

Yes smells of diesel and no loss of coolant (I think the engine oil also smells of diesel too). No loss of power though.

Hi all, just wondered if anyone could shed some light on this? I have an Audi A3 TDI which piles out grey smoke whenever I accelerate (even a little bit). There is also a strange rumbling noise from under the bonnet. I have ruled out the DPF as the previous owner took that out, the egr valve has been blanked off. Video attached.
