  1. Hey guys I've just bought an Audi A4 Dynamik (2011 special edition one - low (unlocked) mileage at 41000) and while the car is lovely I was a little bit disappointed to find that I couldn't connect my iphone to the car to play music, via bluetooth. Furthermore this model doesn't even have an Aux port, which again - slightly annoying considering my 2010 A3 (basic one) had one in the centre console. It does have an AMI port in the glovebox which can be accessed via the MMI interface from the centre console. Is my only bluetooth option this £90 Invery one from Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Airdual-Bluetooth-Interface-Volkswagen-300A/dp/B07G38THN9/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3IU1YQI4AG5FU&keywords=ami+bluetooth+adapter&qid=1656774891&sprefix=%2Caps%2C225&sr=8-3 ? Would this be the right one? Just because I've noticed some much cheaper bluetooth to AMI connectors on ebay, and wondering if these would also work? Barring both of these, is there an AMI to lightning adaptor that one can purchase? Or a bluetooth cigarette lighter adaptor that people recommend? Thanks Rob
  2. Hi all I have a 60 plate 1.6 TDI A3 which has been having some starting issues recently, and I'm not sure what the issue is with. It's happened more than once over the last month, I think mainly because compared to last year (because of the current situation) I'm only using it once or twice a week at the moment, compared to every day last year. So I've come to start it a few times and the engine just won't start, won't even turn over. I've then disconnected the battery (assuming this was the issue), charged it and then it started first time no problem. However last weekend I had to go on an 80 mile round trip for work, then didn't use it until Wednesday morning when I did my 10 mile commute to work and by Friday evening I had the same issue (wouldn't start). Do we think it's a dodgy alternator, or the starter motor? The thing was when I plugged the battery back in it only took 10 minutes to "fully charge" after which the car started first time. If the battery was dead it would normally take hours to charge. Do I need a new battery?
  3. Hello guys Thanks for the responses, I'll jack it up again tomorrow and have a little test again, and then let you all know the results. Cheers Rob
  4. The grub screw has been sheared off anyway! The hub isn't moving, the disc is moving independently so I guess that means the bearing is ok? Is the disc just warped or something? Cheers for your help.
  5. Afternoon people Have a slight issue with my 2010 A3 8P - there's been an annoying rattle that recently started, I only hear it at low speeds when the N/S/F of the car goes over a rough bit of road. I took the wheel off today to have a look at it and there's play in the brake disc (it moves in slightly when pushed and basically makes the same noise I was hearing when I was driving). Now, the brakes are currently absolutely fine with no judders or noise etc when I brake, and the car doesn't pull to either side. I've been looking on Youtube etc and some people are seem to blame the wheel bearing for this issue. However, I had the N/S/F bearing replaced back in December by a VAG specialist when I first bought the car, so surely this can't be the issue? Cheers guys
