Hi looking at purchasing an A4 1.4 TFSI 16 plate. Is there anything to look out for with this engine at all? Also will be my first Audi too. Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks

    You'll get about 42mpg

    Its the Ea211 engine

The Ea211 evo 1.5 has faults such as stalling and kangarooing

    Hi there,

For the life of me can't figure out what this trim piece is called. My one is a little damaged and wish to replace it, possibly even change the colour as my car is ibis white with a silver trim doesn't really blend well.744435390_audi-a3-2016-three-door-cutout2.thumb.jpg.a715b1b5a17512726f549edffd2174a1.jpg

Bumper insert. Pop it out and vinyl wrap in gloss black

hello just found a large puddle of water covering my spare wheel - audi a3 2015 sport back.  I've stripped the spare wheel well and am trying to find the drain to see if it is blocked.  Can you tell me where I can find it??

    Thanks in advance

    Check the roof antenna seal

Check the tailgate loom covers on both sides

Fold back seats down and check bottom boot lip seal from inside car with tailgate closed - if see daylight it needs bending up - easy

Check tailgate bottom drain holes are clear

    Check Wiper motor rubber seal/bung

Seen others that have said the spoiler brake light

I spared you the full story. The problem was water leaking into the motor gearbox, caused by a faulty seal between the wiper spindle and the plastic elbow/bush where the tube from the pump is attached. Eventually, following a tip from a post on another site, I fitted an O ring from my super selection box, although there was no trace of one having been fitted in the first place, or a groove in which one would fit. But there was space and it seems to have worked. The cure was preceded, however, by a great deal of hunting for a replacement motor. The pre 2012 model (8P) seems easy but 2013 on (8V) seems impossible. Used ones were available, though- at a price. I also checked to see if the wiper arm would free easily if I went for a replacement.  It wouldn't. My puller didn't fit and I suspect even with one that did it would have been necessary to destroy the arm, adding another £40 or so to the bill.

So I feel I've got off lightly at £15 for the trim tools and, probably, 5p for the O ring. Until next time!

I sold a motor 8 months ago. Some eBay scammer wanted to 'return it' as said wasnt the right part....( he would have sent me back his faulty one and claim it was mine)

System was pressure tested and all fine. Decided to change the heater matrix as a last resort. Seems to have done the trick despite being able to run water through the old matrix. Decide to cut open the old matrix and found it to be full of a murky sludge which definately would have reduced flow. Fingers crossed its solved this problem for good.

  8. Theres a genuine after market rear sensor kit ive seen available on eBay for about £92. Holes to be drilled - crosshairs already marked on inside of rear bumper.

Where are you located? Not too difficult to remove the rear bumper you will need a 10 mm socket (deep socket made by laser tools)

Torx bits for the screws in the arches

Dont forget to remove the clusters first and a black plastic locking wedge on either side

  9. Good afternoon

I want to replace the rear apron sheet metal on the rear of a Audi A3 8v.....

Does anyone know how it is affixed without me stripping it down and having a poke around?

Ive the part already from Audi and theres nothing on any parts diagram websites of how its secured on. Audi suggested it may be riveted but i assume spot weld.

    Any advice be appreciated!
