Cheers for the reply, nice to see the Admin being so friendly and taking an interest . That's the plan for Saturday , I was just wondering if any on the folks on here had come across the issue.

As an alternative to fishing line and hot water, i have used a hair dryer and dental floss (floss is soft and more likely to snap than score paintwork) this was on early 2000's VW's rather than newer cars but it worked for me.

Just got myself a 2.0 TDi A6 C6, ive had the big bus around a week, a change form the 350z i had previously, the car is spot on and everything works the one annoying element is that the MPG reading on the dash (both trip average and rolling) dissplay as three hyphens. i have had a bit of a search online and have come up with no clues to a reason or a possible fix. Any ideas/clues would be great.
