  1. Hi all, I actually registered a year ago after buying my B2 90, but got totally distracted with a building project, so just getting back into it. I joined principally hoping to make contact with other old-model owners. My main interests are pre-95 cars, preferably 78-89. I have a history working for Volkswagen-Audi GB, they were just introducing 'Brand Separation' and planning the model name changes to 'A' when I left, so yes, I am in my sixties. Really enjoying driving a car that I last enjoyed when they were brand new. I look forward to sharing information with others driving the 'old-timers'.
  2. Hi, I acquired my 2 litre 90 just about a year ago and after carrying out some peace-of-mind work, have been happily using it several times a week. The clutch pedal has been feeling off for a little while now and I have found that the master cylinder has developed a leak. Repair kits are available, but having removed it I can see it has been replaced before, as it is has no factory stamps or part numbers. So, I am reluctant to repair it as I have no idea how long it has lasted and anyone who has done this job on their car knows that it's not one that you want to do often! Main dealer is not interested, says it's too old. GSF don't stock them and Europarts only have the slave cylinders. Autodoc list a number of options, but it is very difficult to identify the correct one. I have asked the question of them on-line, but no response so far. I am going to replace the slave as well and there seem to be no availability issues with these yet. Has anyone got a recommendation on parts suppliers please?
  3. Hi Paul, Just coming back to this forum after joining a year ago! You have probably moved on with this by now, but intrigued by your post as to my knowledge, automatic was not available on quattro models in the B2 models. More info on the actual spec of the car you were looking at would be interesting. Engine size, carbs or injection? Were you able to check it actually had 4x4? A year ago, I paid £4,400 for my 1986, 78,000 miles Audi 90, 2litre manual, in very decent condition, 2 owners from new. A coupe quattro in the same condition would have been circa a £2k premium a year ago imho.
