Hi, Looking to replace the A3 1.8T 8P we have with an A4 2.0 Ltd TDi. Just how good or bad are these engines. At the moment we are just not confident in Audi's due to the problems with the A3. It seems that we picked the wrong year/engine with the A3. So is there a year to avoid? Thanks John

Since the extreme heat our roof has done the same. Spoke with K.Baggs Trimmers in Poole, they said had been seen loads due to the heat. Not just with Audi. Also said cannot be fixed if it's gone at the top. They do have a clamping system for rebonding but only if the bottoms gone. New roof time is what they told us. Good luck.

Hi, to all. The other half has a 2010 A3 Cab S Line 1.8T only got 100k on the clock and she loves it but at the moment she hates it. In less than 1000 miles its gone through a complete set of spark plug and a full set of coil pack First had a miss fire on number 2 checked via OBD reader with P302 code. New plug fitted no change swapped coil pack between cly2 and cly3 fault moved to cly 3. So with that in mind new coil pack fitted. Not only had the coil pack failed but it also caused the spark plug to fail. Then it happened again but on number 3 cly. it appears that something is causing the coil packs to fail which then takes out the plugs. So far I have now changed all plugs and coil packs (new Bosch have been fitted) Then tonight number 3 again has failed. Any ideas on where to start looking?.. Thanks John

Hi to all, New member here from Wiltshire area. As yet not an owner but looking to buy either a A3 Cab or A4 Cab for the better half to replace her Mx5. So I will.be sending time here no doubt asking lots of questions. Cheers John
