Hi Gareth, can travel over a month to from work (12 mile return) use no water, new cap fitted, had both water system pressurized and head tested, both ok, car runs at proper temp, no overheating, no water deposits on dipstick or oil cap. As i said only uses water on 1hr+ journeys, also after half hour running engine near side blows cold air, off side blows hot air, checked footwells for water from heater matrix and nothing snuff dry. Its puzzling

Can anyone enlighten me as why i lose water on journeys say over 1hrs drive, but not travelling to/from work, no sign of water anywhere under the car or inside footwells. On a long journey the A3 using most of the water in expansion tank. As i said it only looses water on long journeys.

Hi Steve, the car temp gauge stays at normal, would the cap still leak vapour do you know, many thanks

I have an A3 8v 2013 2.0tdi, does anyone know why i i use 500ml of water but only on long journeys. I can go to work everyday and not lose a drop of water, had the car into garage and there are no leaks, had the head and cooling system pressure tested, and both ok. Any idea's

Cheers for the reply Steve Q, had a diagnostic check at the garage and no fault codes came up, looks like next thing to do is to change stat. Garage mentioned something about some bag in the expansion tank do you know anything about this, Many thanks

Hi can someone help , my 2013 A3 2.0tdi has started to blow luke warm air when blowers on. Just had cooling system and heater matrix flushed at my local garage i use all the time only 4 days ago worked fine, now its back to blowing luke warm air. Temp gauge normal, matrix pipes hot, rad pipes ok and doesn't use any coolant. Never used any coolant even before flush. Any help
