  1. Ssshhhhh.....dont tell anyone. 😉🤣
  2. Good news......Good news...... 🙂 I took my car into the main dealership for investigation and they confirmed that the 'battery module monitor' (I think that's what they called it) is broken/damaged/kaput! Bear with me whilst I explain..... I bought the car from new, this gave me a three year warranty. I was advised that when my three years run out I should continue taking out warranties with my car and keep getting it serviced at the main dealer for many reasons which I took on board. Subsequently I took out an additional two year warranty a few months ago with the dealership. This included two services, two MOT's, two years breakdown cover and of course two years warranty on the vehicle. This cost me a total of £887.00 Now then......following the investigation into the matter as previously described, the dealership has stated that the battery module monitor (parts and labour) is covered under the vehicle warranty........YAYYYYY! The part has ordered (by the dealership) and it will be fitted in early September. I then asked.....IF I didn't have the warranty, what would be the total cost of parts and labour, they said.......£550.00 I am one happy Audi owner!!!.
  3. Thank you both for your advice and opinions. A neighbour (who works for a national breakdown company) has had a look at it and said that it requires a main dealer inspection and investigation. Therefore I've decided to take it to an audi dealership to investigate the matter.
  4. I've fitted additional LED strip lights into my boot space. I've tagged the additional lights onto the boot light electrical cables (just live and earth). All connections are good, properly crimped and all lights are working correctly. Initially, as a result of me faffing around during the installation process, the battery did run a little flat, and I needed a jump lead start (just the once) to get the engine fired up, but following a good run and over the last week or so, the battery is now functioning correctly. (no issues there) I installed the additional lights over a week ago and everything within the car is running fine. However, I now have on my dashboard when starting up the engine (and staying on whilst driving), the message......Vehicle start system fault.....please contact workshop. So, a bit of advice and guidance please. 1. Do I need to or should I take the car into a dealership to get (I'm assuming) the trouble codes cleared with possibly incurring costs! 2. Go to a local garage and do the same? 3. Can anyone suggest a remedy on how I can eliminate the message. I'm open to suggestions. Thanking you all in advance.
  5. Hi, Thank you for your 'insider information', much appreciated. I will consider this when it is the right time to see what the main dealer has to offer. My first MOT is in July 2023, so at that point I will be with a warranty. However, I am considering the renewing of the warranty for another year (or possibly longer) along with a pre-payment service option. This will (hopefully) provide a continuous 'main dealer' service history so that when I come to sell my car, I hopefully will get a slightly higher resale value for the vehicle. And as you rightly state, it will allow me to obtain a reasonable standard of goodwill from the main dealer when dealing with both servicing and resale of the car. Once again, thank you for your observations and insight.
  6. Gareth, Thank you for your reply, much appreciated. Last oil change was in June 2023 at 19,000 miles. I have taken your comments onboard and will do a bit more research with my 'non main dealer' to see if he is capable of accessing the VAG system. Regards Alun
  7. 1.9 turbo diesel, 21 plate Black Edition A6. Message on dash says change oil. Car coming up to almost 29,00 and the car is 2.5 yrs old. So, questions. 1. Do I have to take my car to a main dealer to change the oil to keep any warranty. 2. Can I take it to a garage of my choice and get the oil changed (at a much cheaper cost) whilst still retaining the warranty? 3. Once the oil is changed, does the dashboard message automatically reset (turn off), ........or does this have to be done by a main dealer garage (at I assume a silly cost)?
  8. Gary I bought black badges (decals) for my A6 from Aliexpress.com and fitted them myself. a4 black decals - Buy a4 black decals with free shipping on AliExpress Delivery time is about 2 weeks, but, cheap as chips (you'll like that being a Scotsman.....lol) and will genuinely fit you vehicle. If you buy them from the website, you can fit them yourself. There are many videos on faithful You Tube on how to fit them. The key is to warm the badges up to ease the removal coz they are stuck on with double sided sticky tape. Hope this helps.
  9. Audi A6 - Black Edition 40 TDi 2021 plate. Been driving Audis for 16 years. Its my 6th Audi and my 4th A6. I'm in love with my car I know its early, but I've been made aware via 'myAudi' app that my 'Licence' for the navigation and infotainment service is due in July of next year (the car will be three years old at that point in time). It states that the cost is 'from' £16.50 incl vat., so is that per month (probably) or is that an annual cost? Can anyone advise me on this matter. As an aside - the Audi connect remote and control service expires in July 2031.
  10. I'm looking to bling my car up with full width dynamic rear lights. Where the black trim is running across the back of the car in and between the light clusters I have bought a dynamic lighting kit. I've looked on YouTube to check out for any videos on how to install and found a few, but none that actually show how to connect the wiring to what connections within the car. Does anyone have an idea or can they provide a wiring diagram of where I should be connecting to? Thank you in advance.
