  1. Thanks for the info cliff. Just need to find out if I can use a space saver at all with the car.
  2. Hi everyone I’ve just purchased a 25 plate A6 Avant Launch Edition Plus model and have found there is an intermediate section under the boot floor, storing the load retention set, fastening rings etc. This section appears to be held in place by a couple of plastic retaining buttons, but if the buttons were removed, Is there space for a spacesaver wheel under this intermediate section? I don’t want to try and remove the retainers and wreck them, if the space is already used for the car battery or the mild hybrid electric motor system Thanks for any info PS The new car has 21” wheels but I already have a 19” spacesaver from my previous 2021 plate A6 so was hoping to use it if it was possible
  3. Yes, it’s one of the newer MHEV+ models so the electric motor kicks in when moving away from junctions, lights etc rather than just helping the diesel out when on longer journeys. There’s a false bottom in the boot but not sure what’s underneath it.
  4. Hi Sorry to hijack the thread but I’ve just bought an A6 Avant Launch Edition (registered in May 2025) and have the space saver wheel from my previous A6 Avant 2021 model. I’ve had a look in the new car’s boot and there appears to be a false bottom but my question is…will the space saver fit if I can actually figure out how to get the false bottom out without wrecking the thing? Any input would be gratefully received Cheers
  5. Hi. When I fitted my spare wheel it dropped in underneath the boot floor, so there is no difference in the space available in the main boot. However, depending on the tyre and the fittings already fitted to the chassis underneath the floor you may get either more or less space for tools etc. my tools sit inside the spacesaver tyre which is handy. Hope that helps you out 👍
  6. Hi Steve. I’ve had another message from Joe to give me the heads up. I’ve managed to get the insert out of the boot using a combination of 2 wheel cap removal tools which loosened off the plastic button holding the thing in place…without damaging it which was a result. Thanks very much for your help…brilliant forum for information. 🙏
  7. Thanks Joe. Just didn’t want to resort to brute force and ignorance and wreck the thing. Thanks for the info…much appreciated. 👍
  8. Hi. I’ve just bought a pre registered A3 Black edition (74 plate). There is a compressor and tyre puncture kit in the boot in a polystyrene holder on the bottom right hand side of the boot. I kept my previous A3’s space saver wheel (2018 plate) and it doesn’t fit because of the polystyrene foam insert. Is there an easy way to get this insert out as the tyre should fit if it was moved. There seems to be a plastic button like thing holding it to the boot but don’t want to wreck it if there’s a way of removing it without damage. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks 🙏
