  1. The purchase price doesn't indicate any level of reliability - in fact the more expensive the car the less reliable it will probably be. Buy a basic Kia Picanto with nothing on it and you probably can expect 5-10 years of reliable operation assuming it is serviced and not abused The strict engineering definition of quality is whether something continues to function as designed, not whether the materials are premium. A £100k vehicle could have the best quality leather etc and the most advanced tech but if it fails to function as designed then it's quality is poor
  2. Update : I found a complete wheel bearing / hub from a breaker on ebay. Only 25 quid delivered and now installed , car is back on the road There only seems to be two types of hub, at least on the lower models - quattro and non-quattro. The hub I bought was from a cabriolet but was the same part number as a saloon, it appears the estate models are the same too. (8E0 505432AF)
  3. Hi Unfortunately my son's 2006 A4 saloon (not Quattro) was hit on the oddside rear wheel which has knocked the wheel out of true. I think it's the hub carrier that's bent but thought it might be easier to just replace the entire lump with suspension arms to eliminate anything that's bent. Please let me know if you're breaking anything and can help. I dont need anything brake related or shocks. Thanks, Paul
  4. I have just bought a 2006 A4 with the RNS-E audio / nav system Due to the usual problem of the battery being half underwater I need to remove it to clean out the scuttle drains. I don't have the radio code but the owners manual suggests it MIGHT get synchronised to the car so as long as the unit goes back in the same vehicle it won't prompt for a code Does anyone with experience of this know if this is true ? I have read the serial number with VCDS Lite so guess I can buy a code if I have to. They sell for less than a fiver on ebay, do these work ? Obviously a bit worried I might brick the unit. Any help welcome, first time with an Audi so apologies if this is a basic question
