  1. Hello guys Not very experiences mechanically but I've decided to replace the bushes on the front suspension of my car as it was noted as an advisory on it's MOT a couple months ago and I just today heard a knock from what I believe was the suspension. I would like to clarify something before I order the wrong part and end up with a ballache job on my hands. MOT technician noted: Front Lower Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement both sides (5.3.4 (a) (i)) I've gone under the car and had a feel of the bushes, and I believe he is talking about the lower control arm bush, I've attached a photograph - the one with the circle is the one I've felt and think needs replacing. I didn't notice anything obviously wrong with the one on the other side but presumably that is the other advisory bush. I tried to find a "lower control arm bush" on Car spares and euro car parts, but I'm wondering if I am getting mixed up with American and UK/Euro English names for these parts (most of my learning is from YouTube, lots of American input) and I'm having a hard time finding what I think is the right part. Is a wishbone the English name for this part? Is it the same bush for the trailing arm? I've got a few candidates... https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/lemforder-9668025.html?gshp=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwm4ukBhAuEiwA0zQxky-OmemxiI8_1HWaKlf4NH-73lgnlQ47h6KVkMAXOkscUOI0nK6NqxoCcmIQAvD_BwE https://www.eurocarparts.com/search/610220705?gclid=CjwKCAjwm4ukBhAuEiwA0zQxk9bFoaVzWbycDztix2kilDfk7CEnFZR0Q9mNY9O-3HQs4tz4nEAbehoCdRYQAvD_BwE https://www.autodoc.co.uk/sidem/7766309?gshp=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwm4ukBhAuEiwA0zQxk_PfDMi7fDMU62QSKw7OA1W0aayR3nanLOpY0FyOC3Z28jgdRJLW9hoCZvIQAvD_BwE Any input appreciated, thank you
  2. Would also like some experiences on remaps for this version of the A6 too Thanks
  3. Hi all, Picked up an A6 2012 a few weeks ago. The car is in quite good condition and was well looked after by the previous owner. It is at 120k miles, I've researched a little bit about things to be checking and replacing at around this interval and I've checked over the service record and everything looks in order. Everything in the "Additional work" section has been ticked as done in the last 40k apart from Haldex oil and multitronic oil. The car did also have a new rear diff, wet clutch and dual mass flywheel replaced (at over 3k in cost) last year, don't know if this means that the haldex/multitronic oil will have been changed at this time as well. My mechanical knowledge is lacking a bit here. With that in mind, what are the things I should be looking for specifically to maintain what is currently a great condition motor with no major quibbles? At least that I've noticed in the few weeks I've been driving it. I've spent a few hours today underneath the car inspecting the MOT advisory of a corroded rear axle, wire brushing it and coating it in a few layers of hammerite. I also need to replace the cotton splash guard in the centre of the car behind the engine. Any pointers appreciated, cheers
  4. Hi all, just bought an A6 and thought it'd be a good idea to join a forum for getting a bit of knowledge on a few things I'd like to tweak/add to the car (AndroidAuto is one I would like very much) Happy to be here
