  1. Hi guys so trying to find the info I'm looking for I'm going in circles . One search brought me to an Audi forum not sure what one and the guy successfully found a set or rear mudguards for his face-lift S-line avant but the ebay link is non existent now. Any current eBay ads says they don't fit the s-line and I don't want to fork out dealer prices for some bits off plastic. My car has mudguards fitted all round but I've seemed to have lost a rear one. My suspicion is the wife has reversed over a kerb and lost it and never noticed it. So any help much appreciated guys.
  2. Yes eventually got myself a set of RS6 5 spoke wheels . They are going in for a refurb tomorrow and they have a set of 245 40 18 tyres fitted with some life in them .
  3. So I got the car scanned this afternoon and it seems to be fixed. We replaced the rear passenger side abs sensor and as I said seems to have solved my problem but we have discovered that the wheel bearing is a bit notchy and could possibly had an effect on the sensor so the bearings next to be replaced.
  4. Quick update and had my local Halfords test my battery and its running at 96% so thats the battery ruled out . So I'm calling in with my mechanic later this afternoon to have the car scanned to if it can shed an light on the issue.
  5. Hi guys so I went out in the car yesterday and the 3 faults appeared so I done the good old turn it off and back on again which seemed to have worked but fast forward to this morning and leaving work the car through up th3 same 3 faults but this time they won't clear. So the 3 faults are ESP/ABS fault, parking brake malfunction and headlight range defective. So have a quick Google and it seems to be a common issue across all audi platforms. I have seen a few remedies for this issue but don't know what one to follow to get thvis issue rectified. So I've head it could be a battery dying , water in the ECU . So how would I go about to fix this issue as I've no handbrake at present and the cars parked with 2 bricks under the wheel to stop it rolling. Mines manual and I tried to leave it in gear but it was rolling away?
  6. I'm looking at a set of wheels atm and I've been told they are genuine Audi but I'm not sure of part number or what model they are off? I've a feeling they are of an A3. Please ignore the colour ☺ .
  7. This is partly the reason behind going for 18s as well as I said my roads aren't great and looking to add a bit of comfort .
  8. Hi guys I'm currently looking a set of 18s for my avant at present. I'm looking for genuine rims. I have missed out on 2 sets of the A6 winter wheels bymut in currently looking at a set of A6 10 spoke (4f0601025dd) and the other set is a set of 18" A3 le mans wheels. I currently have a set of A6 C7 / A8 19" twin 5 spokes which I'm not all that keen on plus my local roads ain't that great. So has anyone fitted or seen fitted the A3 18" le mans fitted to an A6? I was considering them seeing as my car is a le mans but I'm not sure if they'll look naff or not?
  9. OK guys so a few months back I had an issue with the the EML light and cooling fans and electric water pump. So thr electric water pump had a broken wire which was an easy fix but the cooling fans someone had unplugged so they were replaced but the fans where constantly running. So I saw a post on hear with somebody with the same issue. When we first scanned thr car their was a fault code for the high pressure refrigeration sensor. But when we cleared the codes it disappeared. So I asked the auto sparks to change to see what happens and hey presto it fixed the issue to add to it they had another A6 Avant thr same year ad mine in with the same issues and they were scratching their heads as they weren't sure what the issue was and it ended up it was the same sensor. So fast forward to the good weather and thr fact the wife had been driving the car I forgot about the A/C. So when I select the A/C the light comes on momentarily and then goes off and it won't come back on again. So does that mean I need to recharge my A/C or do I have another issue?
  10. Hi guys I'm having some issues in regards to my brakes. So I bought the car and I was told the brakes had been replaced and you could see they had been but the discs had lips around the the top where the pads hadn't been touching but after driving the car hard and using the brakes hard the tops have become slightly cleaned but I now think my front passenger side piston is sticking as I can hear a chuffing noise when cornering to the left so I'm assuming the pad is rubbing against the disc . So I'm looking a set of second hand calipers to refurb and and rebuild myself. I have never rebuilt calipers before but I do have a rough idea what's needed. So any advice on a rebuild appreciated also what other model shares the same calipers that I could use? Also when refurbing the rears would I need to change the parking brake motors if they aren't seized?
  11. Hi guys I'm having the rs6 grill surround wrapped gloss black that the last owner had fitted and while I'm at it I was considering the rear diffuser in gloss black too. While the car was on the ramps the other day I had a closer look at the diffuser and it looks as if the black honeycomb mesh could pop out? I'm looking to see if this is the case before I try pulling at it and break it.
  12. Aye I've the car booked in with the auto spark for next week to have the cooling fan and coolant pump wiring looked at as I've no patience for electrics. I did mention to the guy about the light not coming on and again I don't have the patience to strip the clocks out. I was hoping maybe there would have been a fuse pulled .
  13. Hi guys just looking to see if anyone has come across this problem before? When I start the car up after its been sitting for a period eg over night or all day I get a nosie from what I suspect the power steering pump as I can feel the steering go as if I'm fighting it goes away after driving a couple of yards and doesn't reappear. It's not so jucg a squeal it's more like a whine from the pump. I haven't checked the power steering fluid yet to see if its low? I'm new to audi so im unsure of the power steering set up if it's driven by belt or not. Thanks in advance guys
  14. Hi guys. So as in the title I noticed my EML light doesn't come on and go off on start up. So I had a friend scan the car with a double he has and I brought up 4 faults. But the car went I for a service and an inspection for mot by my mechanic and he scanned it again and it only brought up 2 faults p480 and p261a. • p0480 cooling fan 1 control circuit :- we are assuming it's the module but I've read about checking relays etc. • p261A coolant pump 2 open circuit :-So I've found a broke wire on the plug for the coolant pump as it is working buy noticed one of the 3 wires is broken. • p04800 (I cannot remember the code exactly) he mentioned A/C refrigeration pressure sensor (I think) :- This fault didn't show on the mechanics computer, but I read some where after Google it and it seemed to be tied into the p0480 code somehow? • rear parking sensor 1. I bought the car and the guy told me during a storm we had at Xmas what he thought was the gate banging was actually the wheelie bin hitting the N/S/R rear corner of thr bumper which will get painted in the warmer weather 🤦. I'm planning on leaving the car down to the auto electrician to have coolant pump plug rewired but looking to see I anyone can point me in the direction to fix it as I'm going to get my mate to price a module if he can get it as he works in a motor factors. Plus I don't have the time or patience to strip the dash to see if the EML has been tapped over or not so was leaving it upto the auto spark. Thanks in advance guys
  15. Well that's my next question. My car should have had the 19" le mans alloys as standard from what I know and I use the website will they fit . It compares the old wheels to the new and from what I can find out to keep the speedo as close as possible I would need 245 50 18 tyres but some websites I look at say 245 45 18 and the many sets of wheels on offer are 245 45 18. So I'm now assuming I might not have the the original tyre size for the 19" wheels?
