    Hi Steve. Thanks for the reply. The existing ones seem to hold the long boot up once its part lifted manually. I just got this A5 on friday. its a 15 plate with 50k on the clock. mint condition. Reading all the problems quoted on here I am getting nervous. lol. If I replace them I may go for the spring loaded in any case . I will keep the forum up to date as I go Johnny M
