  1. I know all about the stealers and their tricks which is why I never take my cars to them but this is absolutely shocking, £20 for the filter and about 5 mins to change, luckily I do all my own work so the car will be looked after properly now and hopefully will last 170k as well. Jordan
  2. Quite shocking really, I have sent an email to Slough Audi who serviced the car to ask why it hasn't been changed.
  3. That is great fuel economy for such a large car. Mine could also have been attributed to the fact the air filter has never been changed. I'll try to attach a photo of it and the state it was in, getting a new one today so that should improve it as well. Full Audi service history mind and this is the original filter that should have been changed 8000 miles ago.
  4. Thanks for your help Steve. I'll update this forum as it progresses.
  5. Wish I'd gone for the FWD knowing that they get that good MPGs 🤣saying that come winter I'd probably be regretting it if I had. Yes I hope so too but the fault code still hasn't shown up again. The last 30 litres of fuel I put in had a bottle of cataclean in just before it so hopefully it'll be doing its job by now. Also got Archoil to be put in as well.
  6. I think where I live I'm probably not going to get much better to be honest, I live in a valley so as you can imagine lots of ups and downs. Also think that the Quattro version that I have is never going to be as good as a FWD that I'm assuming you have? It has full Audi service history and 1 owner from new so the Audi dealer servicing the car was always the same one as well. I've ordered all the service bits to do it on Saturday but will have a look at the air filter this evening to see whether it has been changed. According to the schedule it should have been done at 60,000 and Audi last had it in at 62,000 but it doesn't mention the air filter. Edit: the previous owner had never reset the long term trip computer and over 67,000 miles it only averaged 38. It has risen now and did on the way home the day I bought it, obviously I've reset it now as I had updates done to the VC.
  7. Not really sure, he just said it's been rolled back to the previous software so assuming it's on what it left the factory with. I've only had it a week so I've been driving quite light just to see what I can achieve but the 170 mile motorway trip home it only managed 43MPG which I thought was quite poor, there was no traffic during that journey either and speed was around 70-80. Locally and back and fore work I was only managing mid 30s on Monday and Tuesday, now since Wednesday I've been getting nearly 50 on the way to work and mid 40s on the way home and locally, I haven't seen 30s again since so I'm definitely inclined to think it has made a difference. Haven't tried it on the motorway again yet but will do soon and report back.
  8. The car never seemed very good on fuel compared to what it should be getting so when I took it to have the maps updated and some other mods (auto high beam assist, traffic sign recognition, active lane assist and the S5 VC screen) he mentioned the emission recall which had been applied to my vehicle in 2021, he said this would have made the car worse on fuel consumption, and he appears to have been correct.
  9. Hopefully the code and EML will show up soon, nothing yet since Wednesday.
  10. I haven't noticed my pipes going white but I haven't started using Archoil yet although I have got it here now.
  11. Thanks again Steve, I will be sure to find a reputable company to do the mapping and will leave the EGR and DPF alone. Just a quick update on my car, I've had the ecu software rolled back from the emissions update that Audi done and the guy who done this for me cleared the codes which still haven't come back on yet, this was done Wednesday (26th) and still nothing at the moment. I'm hoping either the DPF cleaner I used has solved the issue or I'm also thinking that the roll back may have changed the efficiency thresholds and thus not bring the warning back on. For anyone interested, the fuel economy seems to have improved a bit since the roll back as well. Jordan
  12. Thanks Steve, unbelievable that this engine has been designed like this. Well hopefully the warranty will sort my car out then I think mapping the Ad-blu out will stop this happening again. Jordan
  13. Thank you for your reply Steve, I put in some DPF cleaner yesterday and then some fuel (not a full tank) and within minutes it had started doing a regen. Not sure if it was just a coincidence but I kept it running until it finished and these were the numbers. Measured = -6.24g Calculated = 5.26g Oil ash mass = 34.46... I then cleared the code and so far this morning it hasn't come back on but if it does I'll get in touch with the company and leave the code there. Thanks, Jordan
  14. Hi all, I've just purchased a 2017 A5 with the 2L TDI and I have this same code showing on OBD11. I have got a 3 month warranty but no EML yet. Is there anything I can try before it does come on? Thanks, Jordan
