Hello! I have an Audi A4 B8 (2013) 2.0 TDI car. One day it gave me a "Steering Lock : Contact workshop!" fault, when I started the car. The steering wheel locks and unlocks perfectly when starting and stopping the car, there is no issue with the steering or the steering lock at all, it locks and unlock itself. Yesterday the car didn't want to start, after pressing the key and the clutch down mutliple times repeatedly it started. Drove it for 30 minutes, was sitting in a parking lot for 30-40 minutes, maybe even an hour, the fault code dissapeared, the car started as usual with no problems at all. Today it threw out the fault code again, but this time the car starts normally, i just have the "Steering Lock : Contact Workshop" issue. The car was at a mechanic, the VCDS software didn't gave any fault codes for some reason, the mechanic couldn't clear the fault. Any ideas?

Hi. The car battery is new, I changed it at the start of this winter. Also, the fault code didn't come up since I opened the post. I hope it stays this way. 😄

Hello! I have an Audi A4 B8 (2013) 2.0 TDI car. The car randomly threw out the "Steering Lock Defective" fault, when I started the car. The steering wheel locks and unlocks perfectly when starting and stopping the car, there is no issue with the steering what so ever. If I have the car sitting for 30-40 minutes with the engine off, when I start it the light on the dash dissapears. If I stop and restart the engine immediately after stopping it the light comes on again on the dashboard. It is showing me a steering wheel and a key icon on the dash in front of me. Any ideas how to fix it, or what could it be? I really don't want to take it to a mechanic for different reasons. (Sorry for my bad English.)

Hi! I took the car to a really good mechanic. He said that the injectors are bad, the fourth one is at 3+ mg/cycle. But the first and second injectors are also bad. He said that the shaking is also from the bad injectors.

That is true. But It still could be something else besides the engine mounts. The weird thing is , I changed the transmission oil and the shaking got better. After 2-3 weeks, it's the same again.

Hello! I have a 2013 Audi A4 B8 Quattro S-Line with 177 hp. I have a shaking issue with the car. The whole car shakes while accelerating , usually in higher gears 4th , 5th and 6th at lower RPM-s, from 1500 to 2500. After 2500 RPM the shaking almost completley stops. The car also shakes a little bit if I fully press the gas pedal and release it almost immediately while stationary, but I don't know if it's related to the issue. I changed the front driveshafts because some mechanic said that was the issue, but it didn't solve it. Some mechanic said it could be the motor mounts and the transmission mounts or it could be the flywheel that causes this issue. Someone also said that it could be something with the quattro transmission. The problem is , they are not sure and the flywheel cost about 1000 to a 1500 euros and I don't want to change it, if it won't solve the issue. The mechanic also said that if the flywheel is what causing the issue, it should rumble while pressing the clutch or while the car is stationary, but it doesn't. I'm wondering if anyone had the same problem as me? And I'm also wondering if there is a way to check if the engine mounts are bad? Also, sorry if my English is bad.
