  1. Can the dials be swapped over ?
  2. think its definitely the oil gauge as just a little tap on the screen in front of it makes it return to normal reading tho some days fine others all over the place. will remove and test the fuel level sender when i have time but think finding a replacement not going to be easy
  3. Thanks Steve will look into that think the oil temp gauge itself is faulty if I got another dash can I open up mine and swap the gauges?
  4. Got two gauges playing up Oil temp sometimes slams straight over to 180 c before starting give it a tap goes back to where it should then creeps back to 180 will it do this if bad/lost connection ? Or bad dial? Fuel gauge only reads from 7/8 of a tank to full no matter how far I drive this has happened recently was perfect before.
  5. Cheers guys map is connected but have the type that's inside the ECU I haven't had a chance to look at much yet as my wife's daily drive and don't have a garage so work is dominated by weather I will get back to you all as I work through this and update. Can you confirm the smaller vac line sizes please as most of the cotton braiding has rotted off and may be causing the lines to collapse.
  6. Can you confirm vacuum hose sizes is it 3.5mm 4mm and 5mm ID ?
  7. Cheers Jason will check through that list engines done 185,000 oil is checked regularly since I've had it and toped up when needed was a little hesitant on full throttle when I got the car but got worse. Actuator works Vacuum pipes are original braided will change them all as most are fraying badly Turbo pipes are dripping with oil could be down to long term neglected cleaning but will check the turbo for wear.
  8. Car accelerates well until just over 3000 rpm then goes flat and get lots of grey smoke get code 00575 map sensor (this type inside ecu ) any usual suspect to check? or any other areas 96 1.9tdi afn
