  1. Hi I didn’t want to change the look of my dash so I just added a Bluetooth adapter behind the existing radio. I have since changed the car and have the adapter in my cupboard if anyone would like it please dm me.
  2. Update. the car runs normally just below 70 degrees If I get stuck in traffic for a while. Heavy traffic not moving, then the car goes up to 90 but not above. Took the car for MOT and look at the temperature. £360 for the thermostat. Decided to leave it for a while as it isn’t a big problem.
  3. I will as soon as I have any news
  4. Hi Thanks gor replying. I do usually drive with my aircon running. I have a favourite mechanic I use. I will take it to him in the new year and see what he thinks. I no longer suspect the fans as much as the thermostat.
  5. I ran it a short distance this morning and the fans didn’t come on. So I was thinking the only other thing is the thermostat. Unless the fans are coming on but too soon. They certainly aren’t on all the time as I first thought. After Christmas I will try your suggestion of disconnecting the fans and see what happens. Thanks for your suggestions.
  6. I now don’t think it’s the fans. So must be the thermostat. I will get someone to look at it after Christmas.
  7. Thanks Steve I will try after Christmas. Don’t want a broken car over Christmas.

  9. Hi guys My A4 B7 2.0tfsi quattro is running between 65 and 70 degrees. I think the fans are permanently running but I could be wrong. I have looked at changing the thermostat which looks like a big job. Is there a thermostat for the fans that could be a problem? Any ideas please. Thanks
  10. Hi How can I stop getting this post every time a new member joins. Thanks
  11. Thanks Makes sense. I have replied to all my interactions
  12. I have answered this post elsewhere. After solenoid, cam sensor etc I became very despondent. I suddenly thought, the ECU remembers things. As the cam chain wore over a long period it thought this was ok. When the new chain was fitted the ECU thought it was too far advanced. I pulled the fuse on the ECU and waited 20 minutes, put it back and all has been well for some weeks now.
  13. Sorry, I have replied to this post elsewhere. I stopped to think about what we had done. We changed all the associated parts and still the same. I thought, well the car learns about things and the cam chain has worn over time so the ECU was happy with that. Now it had a new chain the ECU does not understand the cam advance. Although the mechanic reset whatever he had to by software it didn’t help I crossed everything and pulled the ECU fuse, went and had a cup of tea and came back put tje fuse back snd no EM light since (3 weeks now)
  14. Sorry, no difference. I will live with it as with the other cars I have had Thanks
  15. Cntrl Alt Delete. In all seriousness. We know the ECU learns things and I think it learnt that the VVT was not working and was OK with that.
