  1. power steering bypass+

    Hi all my names Chris from South Wales, Porthcawl. I have just purchased my first 1.8t on an s plate with 146k on clock fsh. There is a fault with the powersteering rack so I was wondering if I got a shorter belt could I bypass the power steering pump until I can afford a new rack to save the pump burning out? I know parking will be fun but I will manage. Any advice be much appreciated.
