  1. Sorted !!!! The tiniest of the wires in the harness inside the door gaitor has broken. Spliced in a new bit and door working fine now. Weird how such a fine wire can cause such an issue.
  2. Hi, Subject: Rear Driver-Side Door Completely Dead – "Child Lock Fault" I’ve recently encountered an issue with my vehicle that I’m struggling to diagnose. The rear driver-side door appears to have lost all power and is completely "dead." Specifically: No Power: The handle’s courtesy light is off, and the electric window is unresponsive from both the door switch and the master driver-side panel. Mechanical Failure: The door will not open from the inside or the outside. When using the central locking, there is no sound of a mechanism moving in that door. Dashboard Alerts: A "Child lock fault: Contact workshop" message has appeared on the display. The child lock toggle on the driver’s door is also unresponsive. Diagnostics: I checked the relevant fuses, and they appear to be intact. When I connected a scanner, it communicated with all other doors successfully but failed to establish a connection with this specific door module. I’ve researched similar issues online with mixed results; suggestions range from broken wiring in the door gaiter to a failed lock actuator. Some suggest removing the rear seat and stripping the door card from the inside to manually release the lock—an invasive step I’d like to avoid if possible. Has anyone experienced this specific combination of symptoms? I would appreciate any advice on further troubleshooting or potential "quick fixes" before I start dismantling anything.
