Limp Mode 1.9 TDI Solenoid Valve for Boost Pressure Control
Well Guys ! I have good news i suppose, will take a new MAF Sensor to completely know for sure. But as described on linked forum https://forums.tdiclub.com/index.php?threads/diagnosing-and-fixing-limp-mode-for-a4-1-9tdi-low-power-troubleshooting.179589/ First port of call to diagnose a TDI in limp mode it to unplug the MAF and see if power is restored. Lord behold it worked. Car was out of Limp mode. I cleared the Engine code and of course i now had a MAF code but n75 no boost code was gone. So i have ordered a New MAF and hopefully that sorts out my issue ! Thanks for help anyway on all this. Will Keep you updated on whether new MAF sorts everything out. Hugh

Limp Mode 1.9 TDI Solenoid Valve for Boost Pressure Control
Hey there I just got a new battery like a month ago. That was because the other one got drained. Suppose it's plausible I have drain somewhere EDIT. Checked My battery there has one of those health check indicators on it. It's still green, so i doubt it's that.

Limp Mode 1.9 TDI Solenoid Valve for Boost Pressure Control
I know Steve, it's funny but not at the same time 😑, yeah i already have cleared the code and then took for a quick drive came straight back same code. It's only that code i have on the engine bar two, which is related to the engine mount and AC controller. Maybe i should view it as i good thing and get a hybrid. But yeah will be very annoyed if its the turbo. I swear this car can smell when i get paid... 005512 - Engine Mount Solenoid Valves (N144/N145) 5697 - Please check DTC Memory of A/C Controller P1641 - 000 -

Limp Mode 1.9 TDI Solenoid Valve for Boost Pressure Control
Hi there guys i posted a topic there a few days ago on whether i should consider moving on my 1.9TDI for something with more power. Ironically, everyone said i was mad because the TDI is bulletproof and now it has let me down, haha. It is still a very reliable engine dont get me wrong i know that, but it has failed me right now. I was driving to go hiking yesterday, and i was going up a hill. I felt a sudden drop in response from the gas pedal i knew something was wrong. The car had lost half its power and It had clearly gone into limp mode. The engine was louder than before, and i could smell a faint smell of something, which could have been oil or soot, not entirely sure. So when i got home i scanned it with VCDS and got the following code. From research online this can simply be a bad connection between the ECM and the n75 or the connection on the solenoid is bad, or the solenoid is bad in general. Or it could be a bad turbo which is a really bad state of affairs i suppose. Possibly sticking vanes. Feel free to correct me! I think i will just get a new N75 solenoid anyway and see if it fixes it. Only around 60 quid from main dealer. Just wondering if if anyone has any advice on this and how big a job is it to replace the n75 solenoid ? Talk me out of it Swapping my 1.9TDI for a b7 2.0 TFSI
Thanks lads,i guess i would just like a but more power and having a Quattro would be cool. But i know having a car with those specs is a maintenance nightmare aswell as them being fuel hungry. You have talked me out of it…. My TDI has over 300,000 km if i wanted a bit more power would a map be stupid and would i be asking for a new clutch ?

Help with Airbag connector
HI Steve i ended up buying another used airbag, but before i did i tested the broken airbag. That connection is actually a ground for the horn. The horn did not function after installing it.

Talk me out of it Swapping my 1.9TDI for a b7 2.0 TFSI
Hi there, I'm a huge fan of the A4 B7 platform, and I actually can't see myself owning another car in the next ten years. I have an Avant at the moment, which is a 1.9 TDI. I have done loads to it, from converting it to a MFSW steering wheel to doing all service items the belt, brakes, and the list goes on. The car is really nice now, and I'm really happy with it. But i saw a B7 2.0 TFSI Quattro Avant come up for sale. It needs some ball joints, and hasn't passed its annual inspection here in Ireland. He wanted 2250 EUR, but id imagine I could get it for two thousand. Im i insane to be thinking about buying the car and moving my TDI on. If I were to buy it i think i would take my TDI back to stock, which was fairly low spec and sell the individual upgrades I got for it. Just talk me out of it would be appreciated. What do i need to be aware of with these engines ? They aren't as reliable as a TDI i know for fact.

Help with Airbag connector
Hi there im bought a new steering wheel, hoping to convert my four-spoke wheel to a three-spoke in my Audi A4 2007. When swapping over the harness between the airbag, i unfortunately broke a small spade connector on the airbag. *See Below* Im going to try and source a new Airbag following this. But I'm just wondering if the car is safe to drive following this event or should i avoid driving it until i receive a new airbag? Any advice and what this little connector does would be appreciated. Many Thanks

Power Steering hose failed Cant find a replacement anywhere
Hi there i have a 2007 Audi A4 B7 Avant 1.9tdi. The other day I started it and it was making a loud grinding noise. I soon discovered that there had been a large power steering leak. Because the car wasn't driven after the leak. I'm hoping the rack and pump and everything else in power steering system is okay. I discovered that the cause was that the hose leading from the power steering fluid reservoir to the pump has failed because it has three large cracks on it with fluid coming out. The problem is Audi don't make the part anymore I need , nor do third-party manufacturers. I have been struggling to find part number 8Eo 422 887 L, even from scrap yards.. Im wondering if anyone has a solution for me ? is there anyway my pipe could be repaired or is a used one the only option ? Many Thanks Hugh Keenan

Steering Wheel Upgrade a4 b7
Hi there guys i have a 2007 audi a4 b7 avant whith a very faded and nasty 4 spoke steering wheel. Im looking to retrofit a newer cleaner one. Im just wondering what my options are. I have seen people install roundbottom steering wheels from TTRS and RS4s. But they are very pricey. I like the steering wheels in audi a6 c7s. Im wondering if there is anyone out there who could walk me through what kind of wheels would be compatible with my a4. I'm looking to get something from a scrap yard, potentially. Any help greatly appreciated. Hugh

Ticking noise after oil change Audi A4 B7 Avant 1.9TDI 115HP
Hi Steve cheers for getting back sorry yes i used 5w40. I used a Febi bilstein oil filter. I noticed today that under the turbo housing, there was quite a lot of soot/oil coming from the rocker cover maybe this could help explain things. Kind Regards Hugh.

Ticking noise after oil change Audi A4 B7 Avant 1.9TDI 115HP
Hi there guys I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a potential issue I'm having with my A4 B7. I bought the car a month ago and did an oil service on it a week back. I replaced the air filter and oil filter and changed the oil. I used 5w 504.01 Catrol Edge. I put 4 litres in it as the manual said 3.8 and after using 4 was just right on the dipstick. After the oil change, everything was okay made sure until I took it for a decent run on the motorway when a yellow low oil warning came on the dash, I immediately drove 10 mins to a Halfords and filled it up with it more oil after seeing the oil was indeed on minimum. Since then it has come up once more. But I notice now that the engine makes a ticking/fluttering noise when idling and seems a bit rough. Has anyone experienced this before after a oil change? Did I do something wrong to filter/oil I used? Or is it just the different oil creating a different sound to the engine. I'm looking to bring it to a local mechanic soon enough but don't want to drive the car too much with this present problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Will 18 Inch RS4 alloys fit on my Stock Audi A4 B7 Avant
Hi guys bought a Audi A4 B7 avant a few weeks ago. Needs some money and work but other than that I'm loving it !However, I was looking to put new alloys on it as the stock ones are not great. There is a guy selling 18-inch RS4 alloys they are 5/112 245/40/18. He is saying a need ill need a 60.1mm to 57.1mm bore adapter to make them fit correctly. I am just wondering if this will suffice and whether there will be any rubbing issues or anything with these ? Additionally I would love any recommendations for alloys on the b7 platform as well. I was thinking 19-inch TTRS as well if the RS4 doesn't work out. Thanks, Hugh
