  1. Different things, Audi garage won’t take it for another 3,4 weeks to even have a look at it. Some say it’s ECU but they’re not 100%, others that it could be gearbox dirty oil (but the gearbox was serviced recently) and then some that it’s just a sensor and to ignore it. But no one has had a look at the car (gearbox specialist) , all flat out for 3 weeks and won’t take it in.
  2. Hi all, New to the forum and was looking at previous posts but couldn’t find anything for this code. Audi A6 saloon 2014 automatic gearbox; the message pops up when driving “Gearbox malfunction you can continue driving” . Brought it over to the mechanic and the code is P171E00 - Transmission Input speed (RPM) Sensor 2 - No signal. My mechanic doesn’t fix gearboxes and the other ones I called are only going to replace the TCU for a hefty price. Just wondering if anyone had any similar experience. Car did kind of almost stop the other day at the light when I tried to move and suddenly jumped and reversed up itself. Now it’s gone and pops up every so often. I was told the car can stop suddenly?? As it is what I’m being quoted is around €1000 minimum to €3000 (Ireland) for TCU replacement. (165000km on the car; gearbox service done on 160000 km).
