  1. Hi I'm a new member of this forum as I'm looking at getting an A4 Cabriolet to have as a second fun/project car. I am looking for something that does not really need lots doing to it as I'm currently part way through recommissioning a 1995 V6 Coupe. The car would primarly be used as a fun car for my wife and me to use now that the kids don't come anywhere with us. So from my research I've narrowed it down to a 2006 onward V6 either Petrol or Diesel Automatic Quattro with a max mileage of 125k. I was tempted with a S4 but don't want the hassle of maintaining the V8. So the diesel will be cheaper tax and insurance with good economy but I won't be doing huge miles in it so not sure whether to go for the petrol, or just get the best of either. Any that I go and see I'll take my VCDS with me to plug in and check, what else should I be looking for?? I do all my own maintenance and in the mid to late 1990's I worked at an independant VAG specialist doing everything from routine servicing to modifications. I also have my own VCDS which I'm comfortable using for diagnostic and programing. I have used it on a Skoda Octavia III that we have as our second car to upgrade and switch on all the options. Cheers Graeme
