Just to update. appears lubrication with the spray has solved this.

My wife has an 2015 Audi A1. Got the call last night when she got to work that she’s took the key out but radio and dashboard stays on. I got to it and confirmed. - Parked vehicle. Turn key, engine turns off and blower stops. - removing the key, radio stays on and sterling lock does not engage, dashboard also stays lit up. - opening door has no change. What I’ve done so far: sprayed some silicone lubricant in to the barrel to see if it’s a sticking mechanism. I found that a few taps to the barrel and fast inserting and removal of the key will make a latch or mechanism in the barrel release. Wondering if there was any known issues or things I could look for in replacing it?
