Sunroof Cracking, Knocking noises resolved.
Yes of course, that’s what they say but I’m sure lithium based grease, recommended alternative is as good as that and it only costs £15.

Sunroof Cracking, Knocking noises resolved.
Good morning people, not sure if this has been posted before and if it was I’m sorry for reposting it. I recently had this problem that was driving me crazy, cracking or knocking noise coming from the sunroof on both driving and passenger side. It started only when the sunroof was completely closed but then I started to hear it when slightly open too. Done a bit of research and heard that it might be the lack of lubrification so a bit of grease will sort that. Bought a tube of spray, lithium based grease and applied it thoroughly inside the canal where the moving parts slide forward and backward. That sorted the problem slightly but the noise was still there. So I decide to do it properly, I took the glass, sunroof off, it holds in 6 screws, 3 on each side, when you open the sunroof you can actually see the holes through the plastic cover, easy to remove, take them all off and then lift the sunroof and remove it, I done it by myself as no one to help but more hands easier the job. For this second lube I used lithium based grease rather than spray because it’s thicker and I believe it does the job better. I greased everything where moving parts are taking place, inside the canal, forwards, backwards, up and down, just open and close the sunroof without the glass on and you’ll see where parts are going in and out and make sure you don’t miss anything, there are a few small places easy to miss especially at the rear of the roof, the two hinges that slide down I believe they were responsible for the knocking. Once you really greased everything just play with the system a bit by opening and closing it few times to make sure the grease covers everything, then check for excess and wipe it down, when I greased, I covered everything in grease, there was a lot of grease excess but that was not a problem to clean at all, easy job. Once you done that give it another round of movement and then finish up by installing the glass of the sunroof back, easy to put back especially if you put the hinges in the close position and then place the glass on top as if the complete sunroof would be closed. Then do some small adjustments to be able to put the 3 a side screws back in place. When you tighten them don’t do it to hard as you’ll still need to adjust the sunroof to make it level with the other parts, just check from the outside to make sure it’s level with the windscreen, doors and the rear of the roof top, slightly lift or push the cover until it perfect and then you can tighten the screw. The sunroof will not close and it will open on its own if the front of the sunroof it’s to low when put back so just lift the front from inside and adjust the screw a bit higher. It’s important you adjust and make it spot on otherwise you might get water ingress. Once all installed again open and close it just to make sure everything is ok and works as it should, then go for a drive and enjoy the peace. It worked absolutely fine for me and there isn’t any noise anymore. It’s not that it’s cheap build but it’s more important we always keep the moving parts lubricated at all times and that goes everywhere around the car. Hope this will help anyone with those horrible noises. Cheers

MMI my Audi Login Issue: solved.
Hi there, I’m sorry to hear you are having problems, I don’t know what advice to give you other than what I said at the start of this topic, not long ago I came across to that problem again, I followed my own advice and it did not work not matter what I was doing, chose not to pay attention to that and I was driving under guest option for ages until One day when it fixed itself, since then I had no problems and works every time I chose to look into, at the end of the day it’s just an app and it’s used more for convenience other than anything, as long as my car starts and I can drive it when I need too then I won’t waste any more energy in trying to fix what Audi is failing at. More important things in life to get worried for. 👍👍

MMI my Audi Login Issue: solved.
Hello everyone, I thought I’ll share something here with people that might experience same problem as I did. Recently I’ve got a message on my MMI saying I have to enter my user login details again for some reason and I was not been able to do that. Every time I was putting in my email address and password, a message would come, saying: You could not be logged in at this moment, try again later. Or something like that. I’ve tried everything, log out from My Audi app, log back in, clear catch on my storage for Audi app, delete the Audi app, add new user, remove user key, literally everything I thought would help. Nothing worked, and I was driving my car under guest user for a while until today when I had enough of it and sat down again and started from the beginning, determined to crack this issue and I succeeded. What I did was: 1. Delete the app on the IPhone. 2. Reinstall the app back on the phone. 3. Reset the password via forgot my password after you type in your username. 4.. Remove the vehicle on My Audi app and add the vehicle back in, remember you need the vehicle identification code to do this. follow the steps from the app to add your car. 5.Factory reset your MMI or reboot to normal mode, you know, two fingers on RH on top of the screen. 6. When reset has been successful, log in with select user, or add new user, login in using your username and the password which you have reset earlier. This is what I did and it helped me to login and my Audi app is working normal too. I hope this will help other people with the same issue I had. all the best

Best Tuning for Audi S5, 3.0l V6, Mild Hibrid
Hello you knowledgeable people, I always lived with the impression that an Audi S5 is faster than a Golf GTI, until last night when I learnt otherwise🤦♂️ embarrassing that was. Either I’m a bad driver or that car had been tuned up. I prefer the 2nd choice. Any S5 owners here that done any modifications to their cars, like Stage 1 or 2 or whatever to make their cars maybe quicker and more responsive? I know about cars but I know nothing about tuning, I’ve read some topics around but looks like opinions differ from one place to other. Would be nice if someone can recommend any garages, having taken the car and what the results were? As well as what the pros and cons are in doing such a thing. I live in East Anglia region so even better if there’s any place around me, don’t mind travelling but only if necessary to get the best result. Thank you in advance for taking your time and sharing some thoughts

My Audi app not updating
Good morning everyone, has anyone had problems with their Audi app? Mine is not refreshing , updating at all, has been like this for more than a week now, I’ve tried everything, from deleting the app to reinstalling , connect the phone to the cars WiFi and then try to update, that didn’t work as well, not sure if people had this problem and hopefully someone found a solution to this. I’ve got an error code too for it. Thanks for your time

Thank you for your advice/reply. 👍👍

Audi Extended Warranty
Thanks for your reply, good point that is, the problem now been, £900 a year won’t pay for to much of a repair if something goes wrong with the car I suppose, if I was to save the money on the side. the car is very well looked after but I’m probably overthinking that one day the gearbox will fail or god knows what else might go wrong.

So I’ll take it you say it’s not really worth it? Thank you for your reply

Audi Extended Warranty
Evening people, I was hoping to get some opinions on the Audi extended warranty. Is it worth it or not? Today I took out my S5 from Audi, had some problems with the emergency call, that was sorted and my warranty covered that, lucky enough the fault came in February and my warranty expired at the end of February. The service man said that would have costed me £1500 if the car had no warranty. I was thinking to get a new warranty that costs roughly £900 a year, can be paid in instalments as well if you prefer to keep the cash, approx £75/month. The excess is £250 if one repair needs to be done, if multiple repairs occur that’s multiplex£250, had a look at what is covered and not, a lot of “we don’t pay for if” . That’s the reason why I’m asking here, if people have warranty and what sort of fault or problems they had and if they ever had problems with Audi honouring the warranty or not. Thanks for taking your time in reading and answering. All the best

SOS fault keeps coming on
Yes, the car has blind spot assist, Lucky enough I’m covered for this repair under warranty, I guess that would be an expensive fix otherwise🤦♂️

SOS fault keeps coming on
That makes sense then, they said something about recalibration, I’ll take it back then saying they don’t know what they doing, thanks for the explanation 👍

SOS fault keeps coming on
I’ve tried that jammy and in my case the warning did not clear, could not hang up as well so I’ve had a chat with the guy who answered and I’ve explained what I’ve tried to do in the hope it will clear the warning but it didn’t. In all honesty, if that was something to be done every time the warning came up I would chose to fix the issue and not to clear the fault, needs to be repaired. I don’t think guys at Audi now what they are doing, they said it coming from behind the rear bumper and we need the car for 5 days he said, 5 days🧐 has been more than 6 days now and the warning did not came up, not sure if I want to take my car to them if there’s no problem.

SOS fault keeps coming on
Hello there, just brought my car from Audi dealer just now because of the same fault, lucky I’m in warranty and they will fix this for me, on this occasion they said there is a faulty sensor in the rear bumper, rear bumper need removing to get to that sensor and they need the car for 5 days to fix this , might take less but it’s booked for 5, so fingers crossed. they need longer than I expected( 5 days..I mean, Jesus that’s a lot of time if having to pay by your own means) because apparently they need to recalibrate the sensors for lane assist and everything that sensors are designed for, fault can occur as well due to water going in or whatever, so many reasons for the fault. The warning came on when I started the car not long ago, then next time I started the car it was ok, no fault, then again after few days warning came in again, so its an intermittent fault I guess, when the safety system gets teated by the car, booked the car while it’s under warranty last week, since then no warning, it’s absolutely fine, but I still took it to Audi today and they confirmed on their testing it came up a faulty sensor under the rear bumper, sorry for repeating myself. Hope this helps
