  1. Hey all, I’ve got a small oil leak from the upper timing chain cover and have traced it back to the main seal. I’ll be replacing the seals between the cam adjuster and cover, the main gasket, and the internal O-rings. My questions are: Do the cam adjuster bolts need to be torqued to around 9 Nm and the main cover to around 10 Nm, or is hand-tight sufficient? I’m also unsure where exactly RTV sealant needs to be applied—any guidance on this? Has anyone tackled this job before - car is an 2013, 2.0tfsi, ea888 gen 3 engine Thanks, Ravs
  2. Hi all, I’ve got the dreaded water leak that’s filling up the rear side compartment (where the amp sits). Luckily, the car is parked nose-up, so the water has been draining toward the back rather than forward into the cabin. Here’s what I’ve found and done so far: The leak appears to be coming through the body panel itself, which is both strange and concerning. Water is seeping through a small gap in the panel. When I pour water through the boot drain channels, it runs down over the black tail light gutter/funnel area — and sometimes over the tail light itself. When that happens, I can see water starting to seep through. My only thought at the moment is that the seam on the body panel may have failed. So far I have: Removed the rear bumper and sealed the pressure vents Replaced the main boot seal, as the old one was in poor condition Applied sealant from the inside of the panel (currently curing, so I’m waiting to see if that resolves it) However, I have a feeling the bumper may need to come off again and something sealed externally — I just can’t pinpoint exactly where the water is getting in. I've attached a viideo below and despite it looking like there is a pinhole, there isn't it was just black dirt I’ve been chasing this issue for a while now, so any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Video Project 2.mp4

If you know how, I'd replace the screen altogether, you'll be in the same position with map updates continuously with OEM. Install either a box or screen and you'll have upto date maps plus abit more with carplay or android auto
  4. Following, I am considering this too - mine is a 2.0 tfsi 225bhp If you key in your reg in some websites you'll get a ball park figure (not accurate by any means)
  5. Hi all Has anyone done a DIY job in protecting their amp from water damage). Thinking ahead hear, as they are known to fail due to water ingress from the boot seals perishing, if so, anyone care to share what they have done? Car has a B&O system Thanks Ravi
  6. Hi all I bought a 8.8 inch android auto unit from AE. The wires all look familiar as I've installed a MMI box before on my BMW with no issues so familiar with the process. I am unsure of these two wires though, instructions that came with the unit is diabolical but have asked the seller for support. For those who have installed one can anyone shed some light on what these are for? Climate control maybe? The labels on the wires do not tell me much. Thanks Ravs
  7. Hi all Wondering if anyone can help with the fitment of this screen, I purchased a 8.9 inch Android screen, the wiring and getting it working was a total breeze - Glove box removal, trim, feeding wires etc... Now here comes the most confusing part. My car is a RHD, UK model. The screen does not fit on the iron frame (something you need to screw in for the screen to sit on) and the plastic surrounding the frame seems to be getting in the way, it maybe a modification is needed i.e. by cutting some trim away See, if I remove the bottom right plastic (circled in pink) the screen screws fine on the frame but when I install the plastic frame housing the bezel of the screen shows OK to then have to shift the frame to the left?.... So if I remove the top right plastic (circled in pink) then the screen does not align with the iron frame? I thought this would just fit? Anyone else had to modify the plastic in order for it to fit or have I just bought the wrong item, seller confirmed this was correct but I guess they would do
  8. Hi all Wonder if someone can shed some light, I've got the following code, when cleared it comes back. I understand it's down to the air horn under the scuttle panel. I've googled the code all of them say "no communication", the error code I have doesn't so what does the code I have mean? Do I need to replace the air horn or batteries inside the unit? I can't find the fuse.... Thanks Ravs
  9. Hi all Can someone put my mind at ease. I have an Audi A5 b8.5 model. The air vents when turned to max (12), seem to be loud - best way I could describe it is like a humming/jet engine type of noise. If I turn it down to 10, it disappears. Is this sort of noise normal, I can attempt to take a video or sound to demonstrate but if anyone can check that'll be great By the way, I have attempted to play around with the settings i.e. Sync settings, changing air-flow etc Thanks Ravi
  10. Anyone? Surely, with 68 views, 1 person would know?
  11. I replaced it with a like for like one. See attached. Before and after
  12. Thanks, cloffcoggin. The expansion tank I took out also had it and labelled as VW/Audi, so looks like the original bottle. This also has the bag. The one I replaced it with is febi bilstein and also has it. I replaced the tank in the end as mine was leaking and and looked in dire state. Seems all of them have them and after looking online, no way to remove it
  13. Can someone tell me the part number for the dipstick on an Audi A5 2.0 tfsi (2013 Reg) I thought it was this part no (06H115611E) after researching online - I don't want to cut it or modify the dipstick, just need one that fits so I can read the oil the old fasion way? Thanks in advance
  14. Hi all I need to replace my Audi a5 Coolant bottle due to a small leak. I bought a febi bilstein 103414 Coolant Expansion. The part has a silica bag gel inside and seems I can't remove this. I have heard stories this bag can break causing issues so my question is, if I ordered the part directly from Audi will it still have the bag or is there any way around this? Sorry for the silly question, the car is new to me so avoiding any issues down the line as much as possible Thanks Ravs
