hi what tyres size are you useing for 1.4tfsi with 16" inch wheels instead of the 17" wheels that were fitted to the car cheers

my audi a1 tfsi 2015 i have checked the tyre and wheel calculator on the web and it says it is ??are they wrong or right ?? i was just asking if there are other wheels and tyres that will do the same as i would prefer to put 16" wheels and tyres in place of the 17" ones

i thought i had. i said, no problem with tyres only too big ,this creates excessive road noise , so i have decided to downsize to 16" ones i only want to know if 215/45/16 ones are the best match as regards to speedo readings ,as now the ones on my car are215/45/17 and i am having difficulty in finding the on web as most ones for sale are 205/55/16, cheers, i have checked noise level for tyres and it is ok , they are all new , i have fitted sound dead material around wheel arches and wheel arch covers frount , rear arches with same material but most of the noise is from the frount (tyre road noise )

hi everyone i have an audi a1 2015 tfsi with 17" wheels and tyres p c d 5x100 i want to downsize to 16" wheels and tyres 5x100 what is the correct tyre size to maintain the correct speedo reading i have been told that 215/45/16 is about the best size ( speedo out a small amount )if anyone knows of any other ones that will do please let me know thank you --------------------------------- Moderator's note. yes everything has been checked it seams to be the tyres ,being 17" low profile ones, that is why i am looking for 16" ones and wheels to try i have soundproofed the floor/under wheel arches and boot and bonnet , but on a piece of rough road (normal in this country )the road noise is verey load ,on a smooth road it is great ??

i have insulated the total floor and also the plastic wheel arch covers with noise deadening sheets, also undersealed the wheel arches, and covered the boot, but it is still loud, ,when i drive on a good piece of road it is great / hit a rough part of road it is terrible , i must say for an upmarket car brand they have not thought of noise comfort , for all the gadgets and style this car has , it is a poor show for audi,. i am verey disappointed in the car because of this . reading on other forums, by changing wheels to 16" ones seems to reduce the noise , so thank you for all your help i will let you know if and when i change them how i got on cheers

the hard rise i am used to most of my prev cars have had it , ie /golf tdi, seat frtsi all have a hard ride and road holding superb, but the road noise is excessive with the audi a1 i have bought ,i have had suspension etc all checked over ( no faults i have read that the 16" tyres with low road noise work better than the 17" inch ones , thank you for your reply

it is not because my wheels are damaged , i just want to change them to 16" ones to get a better softer ride , 17" low profile ones give you a harsh ride , spoils the fun of the audi a1

so if i get audi a1 wheels with same p c d of 5x100, what tyre size that you can recommend that i can fit to maintain correct speedo reading thank you for any help cheers

yes sorry i did not include size it is 215/40z/r17 i have been told there are a few other wheels and makes that can be fitted that will not effect my speedo ?? is this correct , thank you cheers

hi i am looking to change my 17" wheels on my audi a1 2015 s line for 16" ones 215/45/16 with the same p c d of 5x100 will they fit ?? and will they put my speedo out of sink ?? i cannot find audi ones in good condition and at a good price so i thought to ask if this can be done . thank you for any help cheers
