Car shuts down while driving
My car either won’t start or starts and then stalls on hot, sunny days. The issues reported by the ECU include: no connection with the ECU, an air conditioning sensor fault – short to ground, a cruise control issue – strange communication, and low voltage on the CAN bus. These problems occur sporadically. From your experience, could this be caused by the battery? When the car cools down (is in the shade or the days are cooler) it works normally. But if the car starts and then stalls after driving 1 km, the battery probably doesn’t have much to do with it, right?

Car shuts down while driving
So the issues you had with the car not starting and stalling on hot, sunny days were caused by that sensor? Do I understand that correctly?

Car shuts down while driving
I had that sensor replaced – it’s not the cause. I have errors related to the air conditioning sensor – short to ground, and the ECU – no connection. I’m considering replacing the ECU.

A3 2.0 TDI 2010 won’t start in hot sunny weather
I have exactly the same problems with starting and stalling on warm sunny days. I replaced the camshaft position sensor, the crankshaft position sensor, and also the ignition switch connector. Nothing helped. In my case, I managed to record the following errors: 01177 – no signal from ECU, and 0819 – high pressure sensor – short to ground/open circuit. I’m thinking about replacing the ECU – I would like to know if this helped you. Please get back to me.

Audi A3 8P 1.4 TFSI starting problem only in hot weather
Audi A3 8P 2009, 1.4 TFSI – issue description: Only on hot, sunny days, the car has problems starting or it stalls immediately after starting. Fault codes: 1177:004 – Engine control unit – no communication 0819:009 – Fuel high-pressure sensor – open circuit / short to ground On cloudy or just warm days, the car runs and starts perfectly fine. The issue only occurs in extreme heat and direct sunlight, when the car gets very hot inside. The car has already been to three different mechanics: Ignition switch connector replaced Crankshaft and camshaft position sensors replaced Other mechanics could not diagnose it because the problem is intermittent and only happens during hot sunny weather, making it hard to test on site. I am looking for help or advice on what could cause such a temperature-dependent electrical issue. I'm from Poland, need to help - cheers 81a1e6c4-6ba3-473b-b3b3-7c44ce57fc80.mp4 75ae56db-d3f7-46d2-9f8a-9f2a4db51996 (1).mp4
