Yes I did do some bits as DIY but mainly the work was done by a friend who owns a small workshop so as to keep labour costs down. The front was done as well but I didn't get too many photos. I will post some that I have. I also replaced the front and rear discs and pads as everything was opened up anyway.
Today I have applied rust converter in some areas on subframe and will get lanogaurd and seal the underside to keep things clean and tidy for the future.
If I do start getting issues with the struts then I will go with full coilovers and cancellation kit. But for now I'm happy just a knocking front left drive shaft needs replacing then I have literally broken the bank 🤑
I only purchased the car 3 months ago but I like doing up my cars from bottom to top then I can be sure of reliability.
I have done the same to a 2009 VW Passat 2.0 tdi and I always get people wanting to buy it.
Let's hope all this work will make it worth keeping the car for the next few years without any major issues at least not on the suspension side.
