  1. Hello Spartacus, thank you, honestly I appreciate your reply so much. I've been bringing it to pretty good mechanics ( so I thought, I live in NI we are limited and to be honest I've actually found it extremely difficult to get a mechanic who will stick). I pay my bill up front and don't expect appointments next day or anything so I get a bit confused to why they are so flaky! Audi is 150 per diagnostic and then the parts and labour, I almost fell off my chair. Totally out of my price range. Anyway, to update, my brother also uses the most recent garage and the guy replies to him and never replies to me so he spoke to him today and he had the headlight just can't get the haldex. I have opted to get the part repaired with a lifetime warranty. I can't afford any other way. I maintained the car very well, it has been serviced twice a year and had a new timing belt and water pump st 78k I think (that's another story, of a dealer trying to ignore me until my warranty ran out lol) but thankfully the finance company stepped in. It seems the ball may be rolling now thank goodness. Can I ask about your final point regards reading it in for 7500? Is that what you mean? If that is the case I would be delighted with that. I need a new car anyway but I couldn't sell it as it is and without MOT. I was thinking of a Skoda kodiaq and it would have to be a trade in I think. Wish me luck with the final bill, it will certainly be less than brand new parts but R.I.P to my bank balance
  2. Hi everyone, this is my first post. And I will be straight to the point. I think I could be super unlucky! Car: Nov 2015 Audi Q3 - owned since 57k now 127k I noticed my traction control like came on last year... Mechanic 1 (long term mechanic): sensor gone. Then ghosted Mechanic 2: sourced the problems didn't want to do the work. The problems: 1. haldex 4wd control module gone. (4 mechanics have confirmed)..2.Headlight on driver side - needs full replacement, it isn't just the control unit sadly. 3. Rear level light sensor gone ...4. washer jets need replacing. Mechanic 3: won't do the work as won't use used headlight etc. Drew up a bill of nearly 2k. Mechanic 4: we can get the parts cheaper leave it with us... 2 months later I think I am being ghosted again What on earth do I do here?? I feel I have to just pay for new 4wd control unit and other things I can't get second hand but I am searching and searching for the headlight. MOT wS up in June but backlog means couldn't get an app to September which is now rapidly approaching! Car is serviced and in otherwise very good nick Thank you so much for reading and any support
