  1. Hi Gary What type of tyre was it? Was it a puncture or blow out on the sidewall? Jim
  2. So got my car back this morning. All seems well with the world. 🤞 Has done at least 100 miles since its visit to the dealership.
  3. Hi Paul I am absolutely not a mechnic, but when I was researching the issues of my own car, Audi A6, C8 40 Tfsi , 2022 Engine Management Light. Audi said, it may be a throttle valve setting issue. If you Google it, many, almost all of the symptoms you have described come up via AI. Maybe worth looking into.
  4. Folks latest update re the EML on my A6 40 TFSI, 2022. The below email was sent from Audi to Motorpoint. When contacted by Motorpoint today and after reading the email, I told them, that I don't think Audi have actually done anything significantly to rectify the issue, other than reset the EML. Motorpoint have agreed to keep my car and ensure it has done 50 miles , leaving me with the curtesy car. Email below Hi Jim Please find below the notes from the Audi tech and what they found when the car was in : Visually confirmed EML active while collecting vehicle. Static events stored under 0001. Completed available test plans: basic setting of throttle valve carried out during test - result states no defect present. Tested air intake and charge air system for leaks - lambda valves altered during test. Test plan advises leak in air intake or charge air system likely present. Assessed all components of systems for obvious signs of damage or leaks - nothing noted. Fault may be resolved via throttle valve basic setting as EML no longer active post road-test. If fault re-occurs, additional time required to assess system for potential leaks. I hope this helps.
  5. Hi Yes Motorpoint have provided an alternative car while it is being looked into. The A6 is in Audi at Braehead, Glasgow. I will have to find a good independent specialist. Any recommendations are welcome.
  6. Thanks Cliffcoggin. Having no real experience of Audi dealerships I am hoping they wouldn't do a botch job, and hope they fix the fault properly. Either way , if they don't I won't be accepting the car as it had only travelled 8 miles from the showroom when the light cames on. I carried out a Vcheck as Gareth suggested and there were no issues whatsoever. Even if it is an expensive repair Motorpoint will be duty bound to rectify it. I will keep you posted with the outcome.
  7. Sorry Gareth if I didn't explain clearly enough. I have bought the A6. One previous owner. Log book still to arrive in my name. I looked at the service history, and it seemed genuine. I replaced it in car user manual and put it back in glove box. The engine light came on after 8 miles, Motorpoint have sent it to the Audi dealership. The A3 was provided as a curtesy car by Motorpoint. The 3 other tyres are fine as they should be on a 800 mile car.
  8. Thanks for the prompt replies and responses. The Audi A3 is sitting back at Motorpoint with it punctured Nexen tyre waiting to be changed. The AA recovery fitted a space saver wheel, drove it to Motorpoint and replaced the punctured tyre. Images below. I have to pick it up later today once the tyre is replaced. The car has only done 800 miles. I am hoping 🙏 a Audi main dealership will be able to get to the bottom of and rectify a engine management light. The car has had two previous services and a health check after 6 months. There is no obvious evidence of any previous issues. If anyone can recommend a good Audi garage in my area for any future servicing it would be appreciated.
  9. Morning everyone. Brand new owner and user here, somewhat worried. Last Thursday, I picked up my 2022, A6, 40 Tfsi, petrol, saloon, 28k miles from Motorpoint in Glasgow. The car has a full Audi service history, last being serviced by MP June 2025. This was after 9 years of owning problem free BMW 520d / 520i driving. After 8 miles an amber engine management light came on. (See image below) It says it could be anything from a faulty, fuel cap, oil cap not sealing the system or a couple of sensors. To be fair Motorpoint have sent the car to the Audi main dealership at Braehead. Should I be worried and is this a common fault? Apologies if I haven't found previous discussion on this topic. To round my day off, MP gave me a brand new A3 Sline curtesy car which was fine. 20 minutes after getting it. The front nearside tyre self destructed on the M8 motorway at 60 mph. Have I made a huge mistake ??
