Hey All,
I’m struggling with an overheating issue on my 2016 Audi A3 8V 2.0 TDI Quattro CUNA and could use some advice. Its on 120k ish miles.
For a bit of context — my turbo needed to be replaced, which involved dropping the engine. While it was out, I also changed the timing belt and gutted the DPF. After putting everything back together, I drove the car for about 2 days with no issues.
Then I had a mapper carry out an EGR/DPF delete. That very same night while driving, I started getting coolant warnings on the dash and noticed the engine temp climbing close to 130°C (max).
I scanned the car and got a fault for coolant pump C, so I replaced it, bled the system thoroughly, but the exact same warning came back after driving. I’ve since bled the coolant system multiple times, but the problem still persists.
- Car runs fine at idle, temps stable. heating works
- When driving(5-10min), temps climb rapidly to max
- No coolant loos, no leaks, no mixing
- Expansion tank is bubbly with coolant everywhere when checking, suspected its airlock but i've bled the system like 4 times...
- Car previously had DPF & EGR delete + remap, but I had it restored back to stock map/EGR/DPF → issue remains.
- Even had a mechanic run the bleed test through ODIS. however problem still persists.
Any ideas before i splurge on a bunch of parts would be great.
