Hello. First post here and I hope someone can help.
I have a 2017 S5 that has developed an engine ticking noise. I have an RAC extended warranty and booked it in at a recommended RAC approved centre.
They called me after about an hour to say that they couldn’t investigate the problem as if they work on the engine to check the timing chain or rocker etc, they will have to perform a ‘full software update’ and don’t have the equipment to do that.
Does anyone know if this is actually the case or am I being bullshitted because they perhaps weren’t comfortable working on the model?
I’ve got it booked into a local Audi independent specialist for a couple of weeks time.
