It seems to me, having reviewed various discussions on this topic, and having been a victims of this myself on the Mild Hybrid A3, that ALL Audi starter generators have issues across the whole Audi range. The quicker Audi acknowledged this the better, in order to serve both its failed customers and ultimately the brands image. There seems to be a complete lack of transparency. I have owned several Audis but after my 2.7k bill on. 4yr old car with 40k I probably won’t buy another Audi again.

Thanks for your response - unfortunately not as I purchased it from Cinch 7 months ago. 🤦‍♂️ lessons to self - either buy an approved Audi (which my last two were) or take out an extended warranty with Audi at the point of purchase!

Thanks for confirming. Just gutted that a 4yr old A3 with 39k on the clock has cost me 2.4k for what is essentially an alternator! Ho hum 😊

Hi Mark thanks for such a quick response - I zoomed in on his laptop and my part number is 05E903018G 0225 iBSG4U. I have scrolled but I can’t see a list of part numbers previously listed only the Audi USA info. Are you able to navigate to it?

Audi Worcester say this mild hybrid belt starter generator / alternator is not covered under the 7yr extended warranty and no good will either! I don’t know how they work out whether they extend good will or not? Please see attached link below to view fault diagnosis. does anyone have a list of part numbers that are covered?
