  1. Hi Steve thanks for your response, unfortunately I couldn't get the ECU from them as the engine was in store and the donor car crushed 4 month prior, believe it was a rear end right off. The engine had only covered 60000m. I have paid over £400 pound now with auto electricians scanning it and they come up with fault codes but cant cancel or fix them. Apparently nothing shows on scans apart from turbo actuator not receiving signal ,glow plugs 1,3,4,6, open circuit, but no mention of brakes. Just been out to take photo and the glow plug light is out as its been switched off for a while but now got a new one showing engine management, its getting worse by the day and it isn't going anywhere. Regards Kev
  2. After a cam chain failure I replaced my engine with a same year engine (2009) from a reputable breakers. I fitted it myself and it started first turn of the key and sounded perfect. After driving for just one mile the brake warning light and buzzer came on plus the ABS and ESP lights but there is no problem with the brakes, they work just fine. Also the glow plug light started flashing and the turbo actuator lost its signal. By turning the ignition off and back on the glow plug light goes out and the turbo works as it should but the rest of the lights stay on permanently ,as does the warning buzzer. Before the engine change this car had never any issues before. Could the replacement engine be causing the ECU to malfunction in some way? I would be so grateful for any suggestions or theories of any kind no matter how small I'm at a real loss with this car but I love the car and want to sort it and keep it. Regards Kev.
