  1. Hi all, Sorry that my first post is asking for advice! I have recently been given a 2004 Audi A3 2 Litre FSI by my uncle who has emigrated. I love the car but it has a number of issues that need resolving. I am handy with a spanner so doing the work won't be too much of a problem, it's just finding the problem(s)! First things first, it appears the in tank fuel pump won't shut off and is draining the battery. When you cut the ignition you can hear the pump still working and the only way to stop it is to disconnect the wiring loom to the pump under the rear bench seat. I'm guessing this would also account for the car misfiring for the first 30 seconds when the pump is re-connected and the car is started? I assume the pressure isn't enough but i'm only assuming. The pump is noisy and you can hear it when your driving so I assume it's seen better days. Why would it not switch off though? Any ideas? Next question, there is a weird vibration noise at 1k RPM. It's only at this rpm and you can hear it when you let the revs drop or accelerate through it. Any clues? I have cleared the fault codes although the light has just come back on. Codes shown as stored on my OB2; P2540 - Manufacturer Specific P0091 - Fuel Pressure Regulator 1 Control Circuit Low P0341 - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Just to add, when my uncle broke down on the way to me to deliver the car, the AA told him the battery was knackered and the fuel pump bearings were noisy. Any help would be appreciated before I decide to keep the car or get shot of it. Thank you.
