Hi everyone,
New member here from London. I've got a 2017 Audi A7 and I'm having a bit of trouble with the parcel shelf (the cover that hides the boot).
One of the ball-shaped mounting clips that attaches the cover to the tailgate has broken on the right side. The left side is still intact, so I can see what it's supposed to look like - it's the round plastic ball with a square base that snaps into the hatch.
I'm trying to work out how to remove the broken clip from the cover so I can fit the replacement.
I've found what looks like the correct replacement part on eBay (genuine Audi part 4G8898283BR) for £23.99: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/136291518186
A few questions:
Has anyone done this repair before? Any tips on removing the old broken clip?
Are there any cheaper non-OEM alternatives, or perhaps metal versions that might be more durable?
I've read that some people just use a screw to attach it instead - does anyone have experience with that approach?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Cheers
