Hi, I’m new to the forum and hope somebody can help. the steering on my A4 Avant diesel has just failed. It’s felt a little strange when going in a straight line for the last few miles but has now failed completely. I’ve got a warning saying steering fault but you can continue driving, but the car isn’t drive able. There is no power steering at all and when I try and turn it in either direction I get a high pitched squealing noise. Strangely though it hasn’t logged any error codes. can anybody point me in the right direction please as what the fault is? any help would be appreciated.
