Thanks for coming back on this. No, I’ve set that, to toggle between “media” inputs. I’ve seen a couple of you tube reviews where the map is full screen, no black square, so it must be possible. Will keep having a play. 👍🏼

Hi all, does anyone know how to get rid of this black square on my map view on the virtual cockpit? I’ve tried a number of options but can’t seem to get it off the map view. Cheers.

Hi mate, no problem at all and absolutely no need for apologies. The mats are the top of the line ones. They are good quality, come with a lifetime guarantee and are of a decent thickness. On reflection I also had them “scotchguarded” or stain proofed by them, so not sure if this treatment is what is causing the shiny aspect. I’ve maybe been spoilt in the past with the BMW and Skoda items too. Recommendation was and still is much appreciated. 👍🏼

Hi, can anyone recommend a Manchester / North West based TCU tuner? I just want to minimise or eliminate the “dead” pedal / 1st and 2nd gear lag. Not looking for massive torque gains or anything, just would like the Throttle a little more responsive. Cheers.

So ordered the “Platinum Car Mats” from Carmats4U. Took about two weeks to arrive. They are decent mats, but I think they look a bit cheap when I compare them to the mats I have had previously in my F11 BMW and my last Skoda Superb. Don’t get me wrong, they’re good quality mats, but the pile of the carpet has a weird shiny sheen to it in certain light, which in my opinion makes them look a bit cheap. (And they weren’t cheap). Anyway, fit is perfect and the car looks better for them. Thanks all for the help.

Yeah I bought a full set of Genuine Audi ones last week for £100. ( a bit toppy, but as they were genuine Audi, I went for it) Messaged the seller to confirm beforehand and they wrote back saying yes will fit. Waited over the weekend and no progress on tracking, then Monday evening they contacted me and said “our tech is now saying that these won’t fit” Can you cancel your order and I’ll refund you. Which they did. But the same set of mats are still on eBay with same description!🤷🏻‍♂️

Hi all, when I bought my S6 avant it didn’t have any car mats in it. Currently I’ve got the mats from my previous car, Skoda Superb, in the car but they obviously don’t fit as they should. I’m having a real struggle finding genuine Audi mats front AND rear. There’s a few A6 fronts on eBay etc but no full mat sets, does anyone on here have a spare set kicking around surplus to requirements, or could anyone recommend a good quality set of mats that they’ve bought and were happy with? Carpet or Rubber, just after a quality set that will fit correctly using the clips in the carpet. Cheers.

So mudguards fitted. I think they look good. Was easy enough and managed to do it without removing wheels. However a couple of points to note. 1: when fitting the front guards, you first have to “pop” a couple of rivets on each side (keep the top rivet in situ). This is done by pushing the centre of the rivet through with a very small screwdriver. Thanks to @Das for his help on this. However the holes left behind in the bodywork were actually too big for the screws supplied with my mudguards. Luckily I had a (very) old pack of U Clips from Halfords in my toolbox and was able to use these to make the holes more useable and the mudguards very secure. Had to drill a small hole to secure the bottom of the mudguard (small enough so the supplied screws would fit) but did this once I had fitted and secured the guards using the two screws and U Clips to the side. Turning front wheel full lock will allow enough space, at least it did with my 20inch alloys. I’m sure 21’s will also be fine. 2: Rears, whilst being able to utilise the torx screws already in place, had a lot less room to work with. I ended up using an adjustable wrench and the correct torx bit. Was a bit fiddly, but got the job done. Anyway I’m very happy with the results. May not be for everyone, but I’m happy with the less shouty “dad wagon” vibe that I’m trying achieve and the mudguards add to that I think.

In conjunction with another topic I have running “Mudguards” I’ve looked at the placement of the mudguards and on the front wheel arches there appears to be some kind of wheel arch liner extension, sitting where the mudguards would be secured. Having found some (admittedly pot quality) images from scouring Google, it appears that these plastic parts would need to be removed and then fixed back on top of the mud guards. I’ve taken a look but they seem to secured with plastic rivets, which I’m not sure how to remove. There are various types of rivets on google with different methods of removal and application, but was wondering if anyone on here has removed there’s or knows the best way to remove these specific rivets? Cheers I’ve included some images to help clarify what I mean.

Since the topic was started I’ve had literally nothing back from anyone who has mudguards. So I’ve shelved the task for now as I’ll do some research first and then report back. Cheers.

Yep could also explain it. I’m hoping it’s something more “innocent” like a corroded connector though. 🤞🏼 Will get around to investigating and report back.

Thanks for the input. Yeah I get that, but my Superb was over 6 years old when it got done. The key to my question is that if there’s a chance it’s a “known weak spot” re choice of materials used at time of manufacture, then this could the case. Anyway, I’ll wait to see if any owners have had the same and what their experience was.

At my recent service I was advised that there was evidence of a coolant leak, most likely from the water pump. A quick google suggested that this was indeed a known issue with the water pump housing and that in some cases Audi had replaced this as a “warranty” repair. I had a similar situation with my previous Škoda Superb 272, the EA888 engine also had a notorious issue with the plastic water pump housing where it met the metal of the engine. This was repaired by Škoda as a known fault. So wondered if this was being dealt with the same by Audi. Any help / advice gratefully received.

Having recently acquired an S6 Avant with comfort and sound pack I was surprised / confused that it appeared I didn’t have the virtual pedal or under bumper gesture control to open the boot lid. Have just had the car serviced and in the paperwork was an AUTEL report showing which codes the car had thrown up. Every code had a status of “Passive / Sporadic” which apparently means these have been in the system but are no longer active and can be cleared. However one DTC (diagnostic trouble code) was showing as “active / static” meaning it’s still an issue. The code in question U115200, description “Trunk Lid opener control unit, No communication” which I’m now thinking is the gesture module as my boot opens faultlessly via any other means (switch in car, double tap on fob, button on bootlid). Have any other Avant owners had this issue and if so what was the cause / fix? Cheers.
