Yeah, it's only taken over 2 weeks to find the fault!!! Long story short, garage where bought it from claimed many things, failed fuel pump, contaminated fuel, not retaining fuel, burning oil. Asked them more than once find out where the fuel was going.... ...no comprehensive answer. So following logging a formal complaint things moved. It was sent to an Audi garage, who diagnosed it to have failed injector no 6. It has fuel in the exhaust system (had 3/4 tank of diesel when broke down & still had 2 days later when recovered). Think we can conclude where all the fuel went & why it all ended up in the exhaust system? May have something to do with first garage constantly trying to start it? Its being repaired under warranty - oil & filter change required, new casket on exhaust as fuel leaking from it. Audi want to run further checks once repairs done. Just hope DPF isn't affected, though they won't know until first lot of repairs are done & test/check.

Hi Gareth, I bought the car last May 2025 from used car dealership (Sytner Select) & yes it is financed. I had wondered whether to contact the finance company though wasnt sure if they'd be able to help? The reasons the garage are providing (dealership where bought it) are not consistent. On Friday they asked how much fuel was in it, told them 3/4 of a tank. They mentioned that it was smoking/burning oil and wouldn't retain fuel? Plus they stated the fuel was ok on Friday; however today claim the fuel is possibly contaminated? In relation to the fuel & it not retaining, i find confusing, because upon being recovered on Sun 11th, it was then left parked up until Tues 13th Jan (when it was collected to go the dealership) On Tues upon turning on the ignition it still had 3/4 tank of diesel? They said they'll change the fuel filter though if that doesn't work, they can't do no more & it has to go a specialist - which I have to arrange to have it recovered!! I'm not entirely sure they are looking or trying to eliminate all possibilities what the issue is? I get the impression that they can't be bothered investigating it.

Hi all, Please can you help? My car broke down on 13th Jan & has been with the garage ever since. Think I'm being given the run around! It just stopped pulling out of a junction & wouldn't start,but would crank but not start? Garage where bought it, I initially stated when tried to start it, its smoking burning oil & won't retain fuel. The car had enough oil, as regular check it, it also had 3/4 tank of BP diesel. The garage are claiming its possibly contaminated fuel, it was filled up on 16th Dec 2025, hadn't done many miles and had 3/4 tank (yes before you ask was filled with diesel) when broke down. They are stating (which took a gruelling to get the error code out of them) P008700. Stating blocked fuel filter, failing fuel pump....etc etc. They've not even tried the simplest of changing the fuel filter? Though before that said they changed the fuel sensor added an additive & it started. Though once stopped wouldn't start again? Daft question could it be related to leaking fuel line which they haven't checked I don't think or air in the fuel line? Does anyone know what this could be? I've had other audio's and had issues with relays behind the dash, glow plug relay etc (though don't suppose it is this?) All help is greatly appreciated. Many thanks
