Update on the problem….. took the car back, the salesman was puzzled but booked it in with their maintenance guy turns out, when they serviced the car they didn’t top up the brake/clutch fluid duly sorted its running sweet as a nut now £4 bottle of dot 4, not a new gearbox

It’s going back to the garage on Saturday morning, they can get it sorted

It’s my first time posting i recently bought a 64 plate 2 litre ultra, I have noticed in the past week or so when I first start it up, it is a struggle to get either reverse or first gear once I get it in gear, it seems fine shifting up and down is this something I should worry about i should add, it has 148000 miles on the clock
