  1. I have the following problem with my car, a 4.2 TDI BVN. Namely, I can smell burnt oil inside the cabin, although it doesn’t happen all the time. From what I’ve observed, on the passenger side, at cylinder 4, the exhaust manifold is wet from underneath. This is where the exhaust port is, as well as the passage through which the exhaust gases travel to the EGR. I suspect that the cause may be a seal in the turbocharger. The turbo on the hot side is wet, specifically in the area where the variable-geometry adjustment shaft is located. Could this be the cause? Has anyone had a similar problem?
