Hallo all. Have just joined this forum to seek an answer to my issue but first, an intro.
I am Mike and I own a 2016 Audi A1 TFSI Sportback 1.4 Auto which I bought inJan 2024. Mileage is just 55,000 as I type. I'm very impressed with the car - my first ever Audi - which I find very nippy and responsive. I also have a 1975 Triumph Dolomite Sprint which is in good show condition having owned her from new in 1975 so I appreciate nippy cars!
My issue is that today for the first time as I selected reverse to nip into town an audible sigle beep followed by a continuous alarm was heard from the area above the driver side rear seat (there is what looks like a speaker unit fitted into the D post just above the rear seat.) The noise will only stop if I de-select reverse. There are no warning symbols on the instrument panel. When selecting forward gears (either in auto or tiptronic the issue doesn't appear and driving is normal.
I can't find anything about this in my owners handbook so is anyone able to advise me what is happening and how to rectify it please? Thanks for any help.
