  1. Hi Gareth, I believe the battery was a Lucas one and fitted about 2 months ago now. It was my local garage who checked it over and kept the old battery on charge for a few hours to check its integrity and found it was not holding charge so recommended to try replacing that first as the lesser of any evils as the diagnostics threw nothing sinister up other than the usual sensor glitches and bad comms between some elements and information not being returned in a timely manner.
  2. Actually now you have me thinking, stupid I know but I have always referred to the car as a "mild hybrid" but thats what the dealer said it was based on the stop start tech, Im sure he said it was 48volt. I just checked the V5 and its still classed as heavy oil and no reference on the form to any type of mild hybrid. So maybe Im getting it confused with more modern versions. Its a 2018 plate, and technically all 2015-2019's were 4M and not classed as mild hybrid but I have no real way of telling that I know of?. I reset the codes yesterday with Carly and today its totally fine, been out this morning and no parking brake or suspension faults and running like normal....its so odd. I dont want to take it Audi as they will just cherry pick and charge for the most likely issue and probably fire the parts cannon at it, Im a bit skeptical when it comes to main dealers. I think I may just have to wait for the issues to come back up and take it to an independent audi/vw specialist
  3. its really odd, you can get in the car and the dash will say "Parking brake fault" and then maybe the suspension fault in yellow. If you start the car its fine and the faults go away. Like wise if you just open the door stay sat down, close the door the faults go away. and dont come up while driving, suspension modes all work fine. You can park up, then come back, get in and no warnings, it can go days with doing it. Im not convinced the battery is good and was going to get it replaced again, but after it was initially done all the issues went away. General feedback from the web may suggest the alternator regulator is playing up but that's part of the alternator which is really expensive and will probably need the 48v mild hybrid battery replacing as well, but all the diagnostics report back nothing at all.
  4. Battery was coded to the car by the local garage that initially checked it over, they ran a full diagnostic and it reported nothing back on the issues coming up on the dash so suggested it may be the battery as they put it on charge and it was not holding so we replaced it. Thanks for the link though, very handy
  5. Hello all, New to the forum here and looking for some advice about an electrical issue on my 2018 4M Q7. 3.0 tdi black edition circa 54k on the clock Started a few months ago, random AC blowers would stop, then start, AC would not turn on then it would work, the parking brake would chime out its failed but it was still working and the air suspension would say its got a fault but still useable. Open the drivers door and all the faults stop. Get out and back in and the parking brake and suspension faults come back up on the dash. We suspected a faulty battery so had it replaced. All was fine for about 4 weeks, now the parking brake button fault is back and then randomly the suspension, again open the drivers door and close it and the faults stop. I bought a new parking brake button from Audi, took the old one out and still the same issues so its not the button. Put the old button back in and it was fine for about two weeks and now the old issues are back. I suspect it may be the alternator or the regulator on the alternator, Carly suggests nothing is up with those systems, either electrically or for the ABS/Suspension. Battery monitoring would suggest while sat at idle the battery is being over charged circa 14.9/15.1vlts but when driving and monitoring it it seems kind of okay, its only when you come off power and coast the charge rate drops to about 12.8vlts, back on the power and it sits happy around the mid 14.4vlts Anyone had these type of issues and what might be causing it?. Appreciate any insight to this. Regards Marc
