A3 Mark

Hi, my daughter has a A3 2.0tdi 109k miles and I just took it for a drive. There are a few strange things going on. Any pointers what to look at to fix. Vibration at 70mph.. I think this is wheel balance so will get them rebalanced Engine rattle at c2000rpm, light pressure on accelerator, noticeable in 3rd 4th 5th and 6th gear. Quite loud especially at 70mph on motorway cruising speed. Speeds and rev counter.. the brightness changes from very bright to very dark.. almost like the light level adjustment is changing itself. I've had a search but couldn't find much on the forum. All help much appreciated. Thanks Mark

Thank you, yes agreed it's probably a clutch or brake master cylinder problem. Was keen to see if someone else has suffered from this and how the problem was fixed. It's very strange behaviour.

Hi, first post on here - hope you can help me diagnose whats going on with my daughters A3 - its a 2014 2.0 TDI. It had a clutch change back in August due to failing slave cylinder and all was good. However when driving it this week the clutch pedal is doing something odd. It not returning after the clutch pedal is pressed - this happens quite often - not every time I press the clutch - but certainly on every journey. And if I drive the car after braking from say 40-20mph a couple of times then the clutch pedal will move downwards when I press lightly on the brake pedal - but not touching the clutch pedal. I'm trying to figure if the clutch master cylinder is at fault or if its the brake master cylinder. Brake pedal feels ok - not spongy. Any recommendations appreciated Thanks M
