  1. Appreciate your comments. Thanks Gareth. Have only listed it on the forum website so far and will have to see how things go. There's no rush. Regards Di
  2. Hi Gareth Yes, I've definitely made up my mind to let the car go. She's cost me very little in running costs over the last 23 years, but I can't maintain it myself and garage bills are expensive. You're right, no doubt there will be regrets in as much as this was a ground-breaking car at the time, but I have to be practical. As for value, well I've done my homework and she's insured for £2000. I've already had a lower offer and have yet to find out what her trade-in value might be. Would hate for her to be scrapped as in the right ownership this modern classic could go on for much longer. Regards Di
  3. Hi and thank you to everyone who has helped with my previous postings. I have now tracked down the coolant hose part numbers through LL Parts, but they don't have stock and I haven't searched further having decided to put her up for sale. Only the one hose has had to be repaired so far, but I would have bought the others as a precaution. Anyone interested in buying? AUDI A2 TDI SE. 5 Dr. Hatchback. Diesel First registered 05.09.03 53 REG. 1390cc 119g/km CO2 emissions. Low road tax. Island Green Metallic (more a pale silvery bluey green). MOT until Aug. 2026. Current mileage genuine 93844. Bought from main Cotswold AUDI dealer at 10,900 miles. Ex demo. Regularly serviced and maintained by my local garage. Full service history and supporting paperwork available from date of purchase. New windscreen March 2014 and generally very good condition for year. Just a few very minor door dints here and there from other driver's doors in car parks etc. and some signs of wear from finger usage on dashboard. Good clean car. Current mileage 93844 but still being used for local journeys with temporary repair done by my garage on coolant hose holding. Collection would have to be from Herefordshire. I've loved owning and driving this car and have had little or no problems with it over the years, just replacing tyres etc. Open to sensible offers and happy to answer any questions.
  4. Hi Gareth Am about to check out your previous advice re. the VIN number etc. so might be able to get some part numbers, but will need someone to lift the bonnet off for me for photos. Watch this space .. and thanks.
  5. Hi Gareth Forgive the lack of technical jargon. I only know what my garage has told me! All hoses are original to the car, so they've actually done very well. After a pressure test a split section of the coolant hose was found to be leaking and a temporary repair effected by cutting off the damage, clamping and re-routing to allow for the shorter length. Other hoses are showing signs of old age. I'm told what is needed are 2 x hoses that go to the heater and 1 x hose from the expansion tank. If there is such a thing as a complete hose kit/set, that would be good. My mileage is pretty low, but I'm now a bit apprehensive about driving with a temporary repair, especially as the RAC have just failed me on a breakdown callout.
  6. Hi Richard My little Audi, despite her age, has only done just under 94,000 and, apart from general wear and tear on the hoses, seems to be in pretty good condition otherwise. Someone actually stopped me in the local supermarket car park not long ago, said he used to have an A3 and regretted parting with it, so I'm not giving up without a fight!
  7. That's given me food for thought, Gareth. Many thanks. Perhaps I won't give up yet! Will give it a go and report back in due course.
  8. Thanks for this, Clifford. My local garage is great and tried local Audi and VW, but found them very unhelpful and wouldn't help without part nos. Typical! I had heard about custom made parts, but it's not really somewhere I want to go at the moment. The clocking is ticking unfortunately.
  9. I appreciate there aren't many of us with A2s, but does anyone know where I can get a complete new hose kit/set for my A2? I love my little buggy but it's looking like the end of the road for her otherwise. My local garage has made a temporary repair but with no part numbers it's not easy to source anything online, although I've been told the A2 shares parts with a VW Golf. Any info appreciated.
