Hi all,
Thank you for taking the time to read this first of all.
I am after some advice regarding my 2018 A4 TFSI 1.4
Out of the blue a couple of days ago after pulling away from lights it became very boggy and had little to no acceleration and was idling very badly to the point it would cut out. I had it plugged in to hopefully give some indication of the issue as I had no engine management lights appear. It was found to have random misfires on all 4 cylinders. I was told I perhaps needed all 4 coil packs changing, however I believe it was a PCV issue as the likelihood of all 4 coil packs failing at the same time (new spark plugs 10k ago).
I got a mobile tech to come out for second opinion and he found the same codes and had the same opinion as me, I have replaced the non return valve hoping this would fix the issue as we had significant vacuum but the issue still remains.
At the same time of initial diagnosis at the garage I was told my clutch had almost had it which was a surprise only covering 45000 miles (12000 myself). But the second mechanic I had out also had the same opinion.
There is a significant “knock” noise coming from what I believe is the clutch/flywheel and am wondering whether the faulty flywheel/clutch could be causing the misfires.
Would this seem likely or would the flywheel being faulty/broken not cause misfires and running issues?
Appreciate any advice in advance!
