Did you buy the 1.2 TFSI in the end? I put a £500 refundable deposit on a 2011 1.2 TFSI with 85K miles on the clock on behalf of my son (his first car) last week but realised I hadn't checked if/when the timing chain/belt had been replaced. So had to follow up with text to the salesman and he's yet to confirm or deny any record of one. I wish I'd helped my son with more research and asked the question when at the dealership but here we are wondering if we really should be buying a car for just under £3K that may immediately need a timing chain/belt and water pump change!
