I recently took my Audi Q5 Sport 2.0 TDI quattro S tronic, UK 17 plate on 50K miles to a new to me independent VAG specialist in the UK for a long-life service inc pollen filter, front pads and discs using PAGID parts and brake fluid. After picking up the car, the brake pad warning light came on, went off and came back on again, so I called the garage and returned the car in the morning. The front pads were replaced by the garage and the rear pads had 30% wear. Despite the owner double checking the work and even trying new OEM brake sensor wires (he ordered in) on front and back pads, he still could find the fault. He also said there’s no way of finding out if the fault is occurring on the front or the rear pads. Finally, he booked the car in at the local Audi dealership in a week to see if they can find out what’s going on. Has this happened to others and what was the fix and how did you get there? I also expect Audi will charge for the diagnosis work – should I expect the independent garage to cover this cost? Finally, what’s a good UK Audi Q5 forum for this sort of question? Thanks!

Finally taken delivery of a 2018 Audi Q5 SE 2.0 TDI quattro s-tronic in Monsoon Grey with pano roof, hill hold assist and elec folding mirrors to keep under £40K as I hate paying tax :-) Very pleased with it. Does anyone know if an aftermarket towbar is available? Whilst I'm not used to driving a Q5 nor indeed a large SUV, should I expect a significant road noise (a whirring sound) from the 18 inch wheels especially at 40 mph and above and depending on the road surface? How can I compare this to similar models? Take a test drive? Does the sound insulation increase/improve through the model lines e.g. higher in S-Line?

Plan to order a new shape Audi Q5 SE 2.0 TDI quattro S tronic tomorrow with the following options; trying keep under £40k for road tax reasons and told to expect a late May delivery time: · Met paint · Pano roof · Privacy glass · Electrically folding door mirrors New to the Q5 and Audi in general so have the following questions: · Interested in what other folks have been told re delivery times? · In terms of colours, can’t decide between a safe Monsoon Grey or Manhattan Grey something more striking such as Navarra Blue – what do people think especially in terms of preferred Audi resale colours? Not keen on white, blue, green and red. · Any other must have options I’ve missed albeit given budget? · I’m assuming the Audi Smartphone Interface is Android Auto compatible such that I can cast Google Maps and use Google Navigation via the MMI since the Q5 SE comes without in-car navigation? · Will need an aftermarket tow bar – any suggestions?
