  1. Hi Folk, I am trying to locate the brake switch on my car.I thought it was located at the top of the brake pedal but cannot see it.Unless I am mistaken it looks like it is elsewhere.Any pointers please as to where to look ????
  2. Evening learned people, I am hoping someone can shed some light as to where to look in my search to get my rear demister working. Initially the rear demister light was coming on when the switched was pressed but since I have changed the rear wiper motor the rear demister switch is not working ..not sure if there is a link. Have checked the fuse along the side of the dash and that is ok. However when I put a multimeter across what i beieve to be the rear demister wires I get no reading. Not sure which two wires on the back csreen are for the demister as there are two sets of 2 wires and all seem to be connected or leading into some form of box on the rear tailgate. I have only just found out that the door mirrors are not heating up too after reading a post saying that the two msy be linked Is there a relay that controls these functions and would getting the car read by a vcds shed more light onto this. Sorry for sounding like an ignoramus but I could really do wiith some help many thanks in advance
  3. thats exactly what we thought judging by the size of the wire supplying the switch unit, but I am at a loss as to location. thank you
  4. Morning all, would someone know the relay location for the rear demister on my audi. The rear demister is not working and have checked fuse, all ok and was waondering if there is a separate relay that controls the switch and switch does not appear to be working?
  5. Hi everyone, My audi has been standing for about 6 months and recently I charged the battery, taxed it and decided to use it over the summer.I have not been able to use it as much as I like due to various reasons but yesterday when I decided to take it for a run with the roof down,I found that though the car started fine ,the roof would not go down fully. In short, when I undid the roof latch ,all windows dropped and then when I held the switch up to start the roof opening procedure I noticed that there was a slight time delay (approx 5/10 seconds)before the roof started to go back and then the rear of the roof raised upwards to allow the convertible top, compartment cover to lift up and at this point the roof should have folded into the compartment but instead the back of the roof just dropped down ( into the same position as when the roof is closed) and the dash light started to flash and nothing further happened.....no full opening. When I pressed the switch down to close ,the roof closed as normal. Any ideas what may be at fault here? I am wondering whether or not there is enough charge in the battery...starts the car fine, or whether the fluid is low. When I initially bought the car the roof was not working due to broken wires on the right side of the boot...these were welded and joined together and the roof has been workly well upon until now. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance for feedback.

  7. Hi folks, I have been informed that I need a power steering pump for my W reg 2.6 auto convertible.Apparently there are two types , those without self levelling control and those with self levelling control.Mine is the one with self levelling control and the part number is 61944026. Any one out there that may have one or know of one for sale?
